it's so undefined that you could even the whole remittance idea have to declare every credit card transaction you do from abroad because that is remitting money.....

It's unclear to say the clock stops when you leave and starts be even you enter. It *RESETS* each time you enter.

In 5 years online has never worked, not even during covid when i never left....

Also, you should mention that if you're arrested for whatever reason the fine increases to 5000 thb.

In Bangkok they require at least a full year bank statement....

Bankbook needs to be updated with a transaction same day. Copy of this and bring bankbook.

the only thing they could do that would improve the situation for retirement. Is to explicitly state that there is no taxes to declare/pay unless you have income earned in Thailand.

That's supposedly was one of the benefits of the retirement thingy. Now nothing is really clear if it's any different.

what's concerning is that it's so much better visa and less trouble and no reentry-permits, no annual paper work compared to the retirement thingy.

I had hoped that they would have reformed the retirement recent and made that simpler and better too but that hasn't happened...

Bangkok Bank, go to different branch. Ask for official rules, you can find them online. No visa needed.
