I live in Thailand & have a bank account, but I have a friend coming on a DTV visa.

I have heard that you can’t open a bank account on a DTV visa.

So my question is how do people negotiate this?

Access to cash without the fees, scanning to pay & receive payment for items sold?

There may be other benefits of a bank account also, but how are you getting around this?

So the Washington DC embassy doesn't accept Wise. Anybody know if they accept Revolut? Or which embassies accept Wise?

Thank you everyone. I have a challenge trying to upload Thai E-visa application fee on Worldpay from Nigeria since 48 hours now without success. I have tried using different valid visa and mastercard ATM cards all to null and void. Any useful advice to what I can do to record successful payment?

LTR-WP visa candidates applying from overseas yet planning to collect their visa stamp in Bangkok, here are a few things that might be helpful to you;

- after you get your qualifications approval/endorsement which takes average 4-6 weeks, then you must be in Thailand in order to move your application forward. Don't try to submit any doc if you are not in Thailand yet

- once you arrive Thailand you can easily update/upload all your visa pages, TDAC info and use hotel address. MAKE SURE all empty boxes has a dash - sign, otherwise you won't be able to submit. TM6 should be 00000

- I received immigration pre-approval next day and given a green light to pick the appointment day. Follow the instructions in your BOI account and pick a day and time

- on the day of appointment bring 50,000 baht cash or make sure your money transfer limit in your Thai bank account is at least 50,000 THB for QR code payment. I suggest bring cash. Bring a copy of the 3 page Confirmation of Appointment that you will receive once you choose the date/time. Don't forget your passport and 1 passport/visa style picture.

- I arrived the appointment 15 min earlier, they started my case immediately. The rest is pretty fast, staff do the work while you relax at the lounge area, they bring you a few pages to sign, then LTR staff takes you to the immigration section so you can make your payment, then you get the stamped passport within minutes.

All very smooth process, LTR staff, even the officers at the immigration side treat you very well, I enjoyed very much and finished with a great vegetarian lunch at the food court. Good luck to you all

Hello!!I want to ask about the payment method.

I will go to Hanoi to apply dtv next week. The problem is that I only have UnionPay card.

Does the embassy website support UnionPay card payment? Or do I need to prepare a visa card?also how much is the application fee in Vietnam?

Thank you so much for your help!!

QR Payment without a bank account

I just came across an app called "Moreta". They claim you can pay using the Thai QR system by just linking a US bank account or a Wise account, they convert USD to THB and charge 3% per transaction with the free plan or 1.5% with the paid plan ($10/month).

Has anyone tried it? Seems useful for emergencies, the other day I couldn't get my scooter out of the parking lot because they only accepted QR payment 😅 Thankfully a delivery guy helped me

I heard Ed Thai visa cannot be done from Thai embassy anymore and it is done by applying and submitting papers online only and getting the stamp in passport upon arriving. My question is what is the mode of payment? Is that limited to online payment? And what can I do if my card just expired few days ago and it’s gonna take over two weeks for replacement. Is there any other way to pay?
