@Stan ******
Why would you assume I have no knowledge? Suit yourself, „friend“. And yes, I extensively visited Thailand several times despite having had plenty covid extensions. Good day to you.

Will they? Passports do not get stamped in ones home country. Sure, you won’t have a Thai departure stamp to show. But for all they know or care you might already plan your next trip. Once a eVisa is issued, it is good for 90 days to enter Thailand. But as I said. Just do visa exemption. TR visa hardly makes sense these days.

@Stan ******
Or just use visa exemption 45 days. Only 15 days less than TR visa.

Wasn’t what I suggested. You get the eVisa online from a Thai consulate in the US - and then use it for a border run to a neighbor country.

What nationality are you? Try getting an eVisa from your home country, if applicable. Should be easier (fully remote) than bothering with having to go to an in-person consulate appointment in a SEA country.

Am I missing something? So just get a letter from your wife then. Ideally accompanied by a (signed) copy of her Thai ID card. She can write, right? What is the agent for then?

I had no problem whatsoever. Though I have been abroad for almost 3 months after COVID extensions before getting back into Thailand.

I see. Not sure this is in line with their governments desire to attract more foreign money to their country - but hey, what’s new? 😄 I think if I were to need to do a border run for a new TR tourist visa, I would apply for a new eVisa with the consulate in Europe / the US and then use that one for a border bounce to a neighbor country instead of dealing with having to go to a Thai consulate in person in that respective neighbor country.

What the hell? This used to be a requirement of the STV visa - and was nonsense back then. Since when do they now even want proof of fully prepaid bookings for a regular TR visa? Are they for real? Not the way people travel to Thailand. Not that they would ever really understand the way of their guests. But I am guessing some little uniform just screwed up that list. Doubt that full proof of stay is really an actual requirement now.

I feel you. Not only do these far to frequently needed extension stamps take up way to much valuable passport page space, the (relatively small) entry stamps are also way to often than not placed in a manner with the most possible space wasted. But what can we do. I give you points for creativity here - even if it did not work.
