Sorry, just out of interest, US passport, 50-plus of age:

Suppose during visits to Thailand you managed to open a Thai bank account in y'r name. Then you transfered international 65k฿-plus into that account for at least 12 months. After that you bought a NON IMM O visa, based on Retirement in the US and after arriving in Thailand AND after 60 days you ask for a year extension based on retirement, can you use these 12 international transfers instead of 800k฿ (2 months before already deposited) on the bank ? I'm a bit confused because I read many times that for the first year extension you need that 800k฿ in the bank. Thanks !

I need some advice regarding my plan to move to Thailand. I have a baby with my Thai girlfriend, and I’m planning to come to Thailand on a tourist visa to marry her. My goal is to extend my stay and eventually apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa based on marriage.

However, I’ve read that opening a bank account with a tourist visa can be an issue, and I understand that having a Thai bank account is usually required for the Non-O visa application.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What’s the best way to go about this? Any advice on banks that might allow me to open an account, or alternative solutions for securing the visa?

Good morning.

To obtain the non-immigrant O retirement visa annual extension using the sum of the bank deposit and pension income, is required a sort of income certificate, but it's not clear to me, I need to find precise and reliable information on which documentation must be shown to demonstrate the requirements (again: the sum of the pension income and financial deposit that reaches a total of 800,000 baht).

In addition to the obvious bank statement, I don't exactly understand what must be shown regarding the pension income and where, a possible document, can be requested.

Thanks for the help, it will be precious as usual. 🙏

Hello everyone, I will be going to Thailand under the visa exemption scheme with the intent to apply for a non-immigrant O retirement visa. I read from the Thailand Immigration website that one of the options for the income verification is to have a “letter of guarantee” from the local embassy. Unfortunately, the local embassy does not issue this letter anymore. I would like to find out if someone have used a “letter of guarantee” from your bank together with a bank statement as proof of enough income to apply for the non-immigrant O visa?

Hi everyone 👋

My husband found a job in Thailand and so will obtain the visa non-immigrant B and work permit. I'm still in tourist visa (exemption).

Can I ask for the non-immigrant O (accompagnant) from thailand or do I have to leave ?

Has anyone experienced this administrative change and want to give me some advice please ?

We're both French citizens.

Thanks so much for your help 🙏

Does Immigration officers have the power to deny you from use affidavits from Embassy in Bangkok using monthly income method to meet the financial requirements regarding 1 year Extension on Non-Immigrant O Visas?

I ask because I've heard rumors about that in Saraburi.

I understand I can just visit my local Immigration Office to ask about all requirements but I'm curious if they have the legal right to deny monthly income option?

The Swedish Embassy still offers that service to it's citizens.

Thanks!

If I have a 90 days Non-Immigrant O Visa being over 50 when traveling to Thailand and also later getting a 1 year Extension at my local Immigration Office in Saraburi.

Then I buy a reentry permit and leave for Sweden for a couple of months.

Is there a maximum amount of days I can be outside Thailand to not lose my 1 year Extension or can I reenter whenever I want as long it is before the end date?

Thanks!

Good evening to all, thank you in advance for the help, I have two question:

the first is that my one year non immigrant O visa married to Thai will expire on 28 may 2025, my passport will expire on 12 may 2026, can I will apply for a new visa with the actual passport or I need to renew the passport before apply to the new annual visa?

The second question: if I have to renew the passport I need to go to the immigration office to transfer the actual visa to the new passport or I can use the two passport to move around?

Thank you again.
