Hi, about to go get a NON-O Marriage in Vietnam. Since the payment of the visa is via debit/credit card, is it needed to show up at some point at a consulate/embassy within the country or it's now fully online process therefore can be done from anywhere?
As for the bank statement from an overseas bank how many months is required?
What should one do if they receive an email from the Thai Consulate asking again for “need accommodation proof in thailand” even though these were already included in the application?
In my case, the original submission already had:
– a confirmed one-way flight ticket to Bangkok
– hotel booking confirmation from booking.com (completely refundable) for the first two weeks in Bangkok
Just want to know if this is a standard follow-up, then what to share with them, or if I should resend the same documents separately.
I have submitted an E-Visa application for a retired 90 day, Non-O, single entry visa through the NYC Thai Consulate. It is currently pending approval as of November 5. How long does it take to receive an approval (or denial) from the Consulate?? I have rented a condo the past 2 years. I am leaving 11-25…hopefully
I have a UK passport but will be applying for my DTV from Dubai. Do I need a flight from UK to submit with my application if I submit it to UK embassy for processing?
- RE-LINKING DTV with NEW PASSPORT?! MINE WAS STOLEN.-
Hi everyone,
I’m a Canadian currently in Thailand, and my passport was stolen while I was in Europe before re-entering Thailand. I already have a new passport, and my DTV visa is electronic — it was not a physical sticker, and I still have the DTV approval email, receipt, and e-Visa PDF copy.
When I entered Thailand on November 6, I was given a 60-day tourist stamp on arrival, but I’d really like to continue using my valid DTV visa that’s linked to my stolen passport.
The Royal Thai Consulate in Hanoi told me that the DTV can’t be transferred to a new passport, but before applying again I wanted to ask if anyone here has successfully:
1. Re-linked their electronic DTV to a new passport after a theft or renewal, or
2. Had an agent or immigration office assist with this exact process.
Documents I currently have:
• photocopy in black and white of the stolen passport ID page and all pages with stamps before exiting Thailand to go to Europe in September
• Police report (original + translation)
• New passport copy
• Entry stamp (Nov 6) and TDAC form
• DTV e-Visa PDF, approval email, and payment receipt
• TM30 (current residence)
• Supporting docs: passport replacement application + proof of payment, updated lease with my new passport number on it, most recent bank statement, outbound flight and updated Muay Thai invitation letter with my new passport number on it.
Has anyone successfully done this, or know which immigration office or visa agent can handle it?
Otherwise, if you had to renew your passport and your DTV was linked to your old passport - how did you fix this?!!
Any first-hand experience would really help me decide whether to try re-linking or re-apply from scratch.
Has anyone recently applied for a non immigrant b visa for teaching in Vientiane? My school has never been through the process before so we're figuring it out together and it's hard to find clear information online. The system changed earlier this year which is why I'd like to hear from people who've done it recently please. 🙏
I believe I need to make an appointment online and then arrive 24 hours before my appointment so that I can upload my Laos arrival card along with all the other paper work (which i already have prepared) Can anyone confirm that arriving 24 hours before my appointment is necessary?
And does it really take 5- 15 days? How long did you have to wait?
I imagined moving things online would make the process more efficient and it used to only take 2-3 days, so the mention of 5-15 days surprised me!
Any insight, tips and recent experiences would be very much appreiated, thanks! 🙏
I applied for a non-O visa from USA over a month ago. My flight is next week. I’m starting to worry. Evisa site says documents have been reviewed and it’s “pending approval”. Just emailed them to find out what’s going on. Is this normal?
I’m a German citizen currently preparing my DTV application at the Thai Consulate in Munich and would love to hear your thoughts or experiences.
* I’m still officially employed by a German company, but I’ve been laid off and will be on paid garden leave from Nov 1, 2025 to Feb 28, 2026.
* I already landed my first freelance gig (starting Oct 15, 2025), earning €1,600/month, with a written contract and confirmation that I can work remotely and from abroad. I have a German business registration (currently as side business until I switch to main business by March 2026).
* Financial evidence & document indicating current location are not an issue.
I am additionally planning to submit:
* Cover letter
* Screenshots of my website (with my services)
* Screenshots of my Upwork profile (with my services)
Question:
Should I mention my current employment and garden leave until Feb 2026 in my motivation letter?
* If I don't, I am worried because I can't yet provide proof if income as freelancer (as I will only issue my first freelancer invoice beginning of November)
* If I do, I’m worried it might raise questions or lead to requests for confirmation from my employer – which I probably can’t get.
