Do any 7-11's accept payment via PromptPay/QR code? Every time I've asked, they've always said no.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that 7-Eleven stores in Thailand do not accept payments via PromptPay or QR codes. They mainly accept payments through cash, credit cards, and their own True Wallet app, which seems to be preferred due to company ownership ties. Other stores like Mini Big C and Lotus do accept such payments, indicating a difference in policies.

So did you manage to find out if you can pay in Thailand with prompt pay or QRcode pay?
no that won't happen. 7-Eleven do not accept scanned payments of any kind except from True Wallet.

If every time you have asked and they said NO, then what makes you think anyone here could change their policy? Just asking.

7-Eleven does not accept payment from QR codes nor does it take debit cards. You can use true wallet. I've never understood why 7-Eleven contrary to most retailers don't accept QR codes. I can even pay the guy on the street for noodle soup using a QR code!
oh i didnt know that. But what about Makro? At one time they would only accept true wallet but then they also allowed QR codes from internet banking apps. That was the only reason I had true wallet at the time because I did a lot of shopping at Makro. I gave it up when true wanted me to undergo some kind of interview to verify my identity to continue using true wallet and I couldn't be bothered.
it's hardly that, even street and market stall vendors accept PromptPay now. It's because they want to promote True Wallet (same parent company) and their own app.
Every time you use your credit card or debit card, you risk credit card theft. PromptPay has zero risks. It's the ideal payment method. I don't understand why nearly every business in Thailand accepts it except for the 40,000 7-11's nationwide.
credit cards with a chip are contactless and there is no more risk than any where else in the world. I use mine every time I go to 7-Eleven or anywhere I can because I get 3% back on international travel charges.
I never tried cards from Thai banks in the 7-11, only foreign debit cards. But my Krungsri Visa card and Bangkok bank Mastercard (debit) work fine in gasstations...
