Gotcha. Thanks. Yeah the form still asks for those information. Until a couple of months ago, they even wanted proof by means up uploads for both flight and accommodation, though. Glad that is gone. Never made much sense to have that ready before even being granted a visa.
Technically it is the consular section within an embassy, then. But administering visa matters in consular work - either by a consular department of a full fledged embassy, or by a consulate.
So, I guess, if one needs a "residence certificate" for driving licenses, bank, etc. (and for that a TM.30), this should be done in the first half of the 180 day stay. 😉
Did they ask for proof of flight booking(s), or even proof of accommodation? They shouldn't, because there are no required fields to upload that anymore. But some consulates were reported to even ask for that.
Nice. Congratulations. Seems the London consulate in on a roll. And why not. I think the requirements on the working side of things are quire clear. The "Thai Soft Power" part on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired.
Also, I am not exactly sure that a 90 days report will be required on a DTV, though it might be. Why? Because during COVID times, with COVID extensions, I tried to do a 90 day report, but they would not have it, as they said that 90 day reports would only apply to Non-Immigrant visa. Might be a different scenario now with the DTV.
I feel the same about Tods advice. Can’t say the same of some other parts of that team. And you are right, they had that very strict policy of shutting down threads. Sometimes even when the info argued was correct. I believe that is how this group happened - to be wider in topics and more open to more creative approaches on immigration. 😊 I am happy in this group.
And in the precise case it was a disagreement of how and where COVID extensions were possible. While Non-Immigrant visa holders are “stuck” with their immigration office, people on tourist visa were free to book a hotel in another province to simply make another immigration office their jurisdiction for extensions and other things. As especially with COVID extensions immigration offices varied drastically in their rules and requirements, it was only logical to shop around for more favorable immigration office jurisdictions. I guess someone of the retirement fraction who happened to be a mod felt at a disadvantage or simply didn’t know better. A mere personal reaction to kick a contributing, rule-following member out without warning. Anyways … water under the bridge. Still asking Tod occasionally in direct messages if something specific comes up.
