Different reports have popped up depending on the respective consulate. Some were fine with a single statement, others wanted consecutive statements. I think a single statement would be quite open to misuse, as everyone could just borrow some money temporarily (from parents or what not). But it seems to suffice in most cases. Don't do a screenshot, though. You need a current bank statement with your name indicated on it.

You still can't believe it, can you? 😁😅✌

It all depends now on you and your (former) employer. If nothing was officially terminated - you might find a good way to fix things while avoiding overstay. Fix it now.

To my understanding, you cannot be on a Non-B "Visa" anymore. The visa was valid for 90 days - so you must have extended your stay based on work before. You say you don't work anymore ... if the work is terminated, so needs to be the work permit ... and with it, your extension and permission to stay. From the day the work is gone, you technically only have 7 days to leave the country. You might technically thus even be overstaying. Certainly no way to extend stay based off of work, if the work is terminated already. You will have to leave Thailand and re-enter on a different visa (or visa exempt), imho. I would rather go for a visa in that case, because of your history. But maybe someone with more first hand knowledge on this can chime in here.

To avoid unwanted consequences, I would also advise to speak with your (former) employer how to end administrative things properly.

Some consulates actually issue the METV as close to your departure as possible - to do you a favor / maximize the time you can use it. Happened to me once.

Which retirement visa? You cannot change a visa to multiple entry. But you can get (buy) a re-entry permit, that lets you keep your status active even when leaving and returning.

You described the realities extensively here. Chapeau. Legally speaking though, the Thai Immigration Act of 1979 is the law on this and governs entry into Thailand. Whoever is interested on that, I made a separate comment.

Funny enough they would actually have a "valid" reason to deny much more people entry. As in Section 12 No. 4 a reason mentioned is to deny people that have a "unsound mind". 😅😁

The Thai Immigration Act is the respective law regulating entries into Thailand. I'll link an unofficial English translation enclosed. It mentions an exclusive list of all the valid reasons an immigration officer can deny you entry (Section 12).

None of it in there gives them a reason to deny you merely because you have come to often or stayed too much or on a "wrong" visa. What happens when it happens and people get denied entry, is that immigration officers almost always fall back to the reason of "insufficient funds" (Section 12 No. 2 of the Thai Immigration Act). That is irrespective of them asking you for the 10k or 20k baht in cash or not. They use it as a fallback for constructing that as a tourist, you cannot possibly have enough funds (12.2) or that you are working illegally (12.3) if you spend all your time being a tourist in Thailand. This of course is nonsense.

But once they denied you (and give you a denied stamp with that section / reason written next to the denied stamp), you are denied. Sure, you can file a complaint "against the competent officer" (Section 22) - there is a dedicated form for that (I always carry one) and that form (TM.11) needs to be stamped with a 500 baht fee. But it would not help you much in that moment. They would detain you at the airport and even if you followed through with submitting that complaint form, they have a week or so to get back to you from their superiors - someone from the ministry. Do you really want to be stuck in a detention cell for that long? It is bullshit - but it is what it is, because they forgot to put a hard limitation in the law.
