Depending on your age of course. I am 77 living permanently in Thailand for 17 years. Health insurance with AETNA, formerly known as BUPA. For 1 million baht inpatient cover i paid 175,000 baht last year. For the O-A mandatory 400,

,000 baht health cover, i upgraded my existing policy to add the 40,000 baht outpatient cover. That premium cost me 32,000 baht !! Because i joined BUPA before turning 60, they will insure me for life. Because of high cost i would not recommend AETNA to you. I do not have any separate COVID insurance cover. I dont know what other readers will tell you but i provide you with the actual reality. I know that (for a cost) many " Visa Agents" can secure your non O-A visa one year extensions without your having the mandatory health certificate for the IO.

Could give you what I pay but need more detail. Your retirement visa based on non O or non O-A ? Health insurance mandatory with a Thai company if you are O-A.

Unfortunately Chonburi Immigration does not accept your proposal. They want to see the ridiculous certificate stating the 40,
*******
,000 baht coverage. Actual Policies from AETNA are not acceptable without the required certificate. I am already insured for one million baht inpatient and have more than required in the bank for the 40,000 outpatient insurance which I cannot even use because they looked at my hospital outpatient records without my approval. Not even claimed on their policy. It is all just another rip off. My expat friends are using Pattaya Agents and getting their renewals without any insurance certificates. They are paying about 10,000 baht to Agents and my outpatient AETNA policy for 40,000 baht is costing me 32,000 baht per annum. Go figure. I guess corruption pays in the long term ? Even though I have never used an Agent
