I would not recommend AETNA health insurance ( previously known as BUPA THAILAND). Depending on your age of course, the annual premiums are VERY expensive. If you are here on a non O-A visa you must also have outpatient cover of 40,000 baht.
What about Thai people over 40 without these health conditions who do not live near a City and do not have their name in a house book from the province where they actually live ?
If you look back at the stats before the introduction of compulsory OPD health insurance for farangs. There were no live in expats in the list. It was all people from neighboring countries and tourists who were escaping without paying. What security was in place at those hospitals ?
