TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights uncertainty around the impact of vaccinations on travel to Thailand. Many commenters express skepticism that vaccinated travelers will see immediate changes to admission policies, continuing instead to anticipate mandatory quarantines and strict travel restrictions until a broader vaccination rollout among the Thai population occurs.
There are now serious incidences of allergic reactions happening with many of those injected in the UK. It seems this was not mentioned as a side effect by Pfizer.

The vaccine does not stop the spread of the virus. It stops the disease. Thailand won’t be safe until Thais are vaccinated

Not correct read the info Like a flue jab it stops u catching it as it gets your antibodies into go mode to stop it in its tracks
Gary *********
Didnt realise it was compulsory silly me or perhaps you
George *******
Vaccinate yourselves to death for chrissake but leave the rest of us alone, ok.
even 100% effective vaccine doesn't mean you not catch it.
Gary *********
100p cent would be nice but not possible But yep if it was 100p cent Like any vacc.eg measles Then u would not catch it , however like most virus infections they often change their gnome sequence which is why the flue jab is often aimed at 3 strains and is even a different jab between the North and Southern hemisphere

So what? It means anyone taking it has to be an imbecile.
Nothing will change for the next six months at least. You should know that Thailand is a very conservative country regarding the virus and will not be anywhere near the first countries to stop quarantining people
Susan *********
I don't anyone has been vaccinated in the U.S. yet. The first to get vaccinated are front line workers and those in 'old folks' homes.

Vaccination does not stop you catching covid
It is only going to help you not get it too bad hopefully
the alleged virus hasn't even bee isolated. No one has ever seen it. They are not sure it even exists. They guess and conjecture, nothing more. Tests kits are a joke. The are impotent finding any virus, as even the inventor of those kits confirmed himself. Vaccine is totally unnecessary, rushed, unproven, untested, dangerous.
just like the 82 percent who are asymptomatic. Intact in the zero to 45 age group its 93 percent who show no symptoms. There are two ways to end this nonsense 1 ) stop getting tested 2 ) if you are under 45 years old and reasonably fit hug a Covid
, your numbers are not correct even it is true that high numbers are not getting sick and even less dies from Corona. However, people are still dying from Corona.

The key is that it will lessen your CHANCES of catching the strain concerned. The fewer people who contract it, the fewer who can pass it on (etc etc). The flu jab protects you against the strains that are expected to predominate in that particular year. We will probably need further vaccinations against new mutations as the disease develops (as per flu at the moment) but it's too early to know right now.
Grant *********
I've produce my facts regarding my sons credentials which you and Garrett laughed off as if I was lying, that just proves how arrogant you are, I have not said once I wouldn't take the jab. A conspiracy theorist would not take the jab, making up all sorts of outlandish reasons.
I believe it will work but not to the effectiveness they say, its is also fact that is is a short term vaccine, in its first stages it only lasted 56 days. The fact that you will receive a jab every years speaks volumes as to its life span. Put up or shut up, I have asked for the YouTube videos I supposedly referred to and the proof of my so called conspiracy theories. As for religion??? Where have I even brought up religion and science mix. As I said put up or shut up!
, the vaccines detect the virus on certain characteristics. If those characteristics are not changed by mutation, then the vaccine will still be working. I guess doctors and virologists know this better than mathematicians.
hahahahaha its those mathematicians that have worked with epidemiologists and virologists to predict that the vaccine will work, not doctors mate and once a virus changes the so does the need for the vaccine to be adjusted. I love how you like that other flop Garrett want to brow beat over me knowing how the vaccine was fast tracked and what its capable of by arrogantly taking a swipe. But then again you, like Garrett are obviously experts.
, then why are the virologists saying very different from you? The virologists are very strong on this matter that some mutations have no impact on the effect of the vaccines, while what they call "monster mutations" might erase the effect completely. Therefore, the mutations of Covid-19 are monitored very closely. However, some vaccines are easy to adjust to new mutations, while monster mutations might reset the development of the vaccines completely. If you were right, then how come that the world has had stable vaccines for measles, smallpox, etc. for decades?
for a start the vaccine will only last 3 - 12 months, it cannot be effective to new strains, its impossible. This is all about money, ask yourself why the flu vaccine is only 35% effective at best? How long have they been working on them? In less than 11 months they have a 95% effectiveness coronavirus vaccine...really? Ok I asked my son is it possible to come up with the vaccine he said yes...but it will not cover all rna strains...impossible. surely you can't be that naive to believe that this is possible...governments lie, politicians lie. I believe the vaccine is safe and will have no long term effects due to its short life span. Smallpox and the like are not rna viruses. Big difference.
You cannot compare smallpox or measles to a respiratory disease. Dont believe everything you read or hear when big money and big pharma are involved
, you have your own very private ideas about vaccines only working for a short time. How about all the vaccines of the world? Did you forget about vaccines from before? Measles, smallpox, etc. those vaccines are not only 35% effective. Your mind seems to be ruled by conspiracy theories.
again, you cannot compare a vaccine for a respiratory illness to a smallpox or measles vaccine, their only similarities is that they're a vaccine, it ends there. They have all said it is a short term vaccine and will likely be the same as a flu vax which you have to get each year. By the way if you look hard enough you will see many articles from virologists doubting the vaccine and believe that the data has been embellished dropping from 90% to 62% after the second vaccination. Data is not a conspiracy theory, your mind is ruled by blind arrogance
, when your own theories based on YouTube videos take over, then discussions are pointless. The virologists have very different ideas from you and your son. You are completely mixing up the effect after the first and second shot. It is the other way around that the effect rises significantly after the second shot, not the other way around. You are obviously searching for "evidence" proving your preconceptions made up from conspiracy theories. When you start with preconceptions instead of data, then you are filtering out all the data which are not in line with your preconceptions. That's the difference between religion and science.
, you are clearly mixing up your private ideas with data, and naming ppl not agreeing with your theories to be led by "blind arrogance". We all know the funny sources you are linking to. Yes, there are potential challenges with the vaccines for Covid-19, but very far from what you are talking about. Yes, there might come monster mutations erasing the effect of the vaccines. But nothing indicates this as a present situation. Also, yes, no one knows yet how long the vaccine will maintain antibodies, but only 3-6 months contradicts the data collected so far.
name them, you are full of shit, never assume anything. Tell me what data is used to predict if the vaccine works and for how long?? Mathematics, its not from long term testing. You come up with these wild assumptions that I have these "private ideas" it must be hard being right all the time. Also I said 3 - 12 months not 6, nothing contradictory there. A monster mutation hahahahaha any mutation that alters the rna strain will render the vaccine useless. You keep arguing without putting up any facts, that shows that you are so full of your own self importance and your inability to accept that there could be some truth to what im saying. I asked you to put up or shut up and you didn't. So as we say in Australia Henri, jog on!
, you are talking about "blind arrogance". You are talking about yourself here. Your idea that every minor mutation will make the vaccine ineffective is showing nothing but a blind arrogance. This is not how vaccines work. Vaccines are not making a full exact match but are reacting on specific characteristics. Only if those characteristics change, the vaccine becomes ineffective. Update yourself on the basics of how vaccines work instead of talking about exactly your own blind arrogance and self-importance being unable to face the fact that thousands of virologists might know better than you... OVER AND OUT.
you had your chance, what dont you get about put up or shut up? You and your buddy laugh and thought I was making shit up about my son now show me where I got my so called YouTube clips and conspiracy theories from or take a walk. I backed up everything I said, you havent! Stop wasting my time, you're full of shit and I can tell you love to hear the sound of your own voice.
Grant Stevens, wonder why you are not a candidate for the Nobel Prize? Your brain is so big that you are the next ruler of the entire world. Good luck... LOL LOL LOL
what YouTube videos? Oh that's right your arrogance leads you to assumptions, im not mixing anything up. There are no conspiracy theories, you can point out a conspiracy theory to me if you like, you can also point out which YouTube videos you're referring to?

I’m reminded yet again, as if I even needed reminding, why I rarely visit Fakebook threads nowadays. It’s literally like watching a slow-motion version of Darwinism in action. There are so many amoeba-brained idiots who follow every single syllable of every single word that their government tells them, like it was Moses coming down from Mount Sinai with the equivalent today of the 10 Commandments. Utter insanity to see people post the shit that they post on here begging to be injected with poison. Go ahead I say. The world will be better off without so many sheep queuing up in front of the wolf.
go check my Facebook out you flog and you will see the recent pic of my son, you obviously know better, also while your at it maybe go see what a medical mathematician studies. That will wipe the smugness from your know it all face
if it was 100% effective it will stop you getting the virus, it won't stop the different strains of covid. They have already said that it is for a particular strain of covid19. They can tell the different strains that have come out of different countries so in essence it will likely lessen the symptoms
i believe the vaccine will work to an extent, it is a new vaccine that will only last between 3 and 12 months, within that time the virus can mutate, how can it protect against a mutated strain that hasn't been used in making the vaccine? You have to use part of the virus as it needs to carry the rna strain when making the vaccine, you cannot make a synthetic vaccine because it carries no RNA strains. Yes it will work like a flu vax and will be topped up each year, remembering that the flu vax is only 35% effective due to mutating flu and influenza viruses all which carry rna strains
, there are more than 400 mutations of Covid-19 already. Each vaccine works for all the known mutations so far. But yes, there might happen some mutations sometimes in the future, the vaccines will not work for. Some vaccines will be easy to adjust to new monster mutations. Some vaccines will not be.
my son is a dr of medical mathematics, this is what they do, they fast track medications by working out the probability of medicines actually working. He has told me that most vaccines are made by using the same "modelling" for most vaccines, so some of the guess work is taken out. It is impossible for a vaccine to be made so quickly to cover all strains especially knowing that the vaccine has such a short life span. We cannot even make a common cold vaccine higher than 35% yet here we are with a vaccine for coronavirus???
, that's simply nonsense. The world has many highly effective vaccines. Influenza is not one disease but many. Vaccines exist for some but far from all.
you do know the human body is fully capable of fighting off viruses how do you think we got to 2020 all the poison people are putting it there bodies with junk food will get sick and catch viruses eat like a human is suppose to and we are good
, the body is not fully capable of fighting off viruses, but only partly capable. Medical science is the major reason why people are living about double the age than 100 years ago. Vaccines are one of the major miracles of medical science.
, that seems obvious, but no problem to find real sources on how vaccines basically work.
Tom *******
Henrik JN So how do you explain why in 50 years, no coronavirus vaccine was ever made? Same for the common cold? Despite many efforts? But now miraculous it’s made in 8 months? You sir are a professional idiot.

Thailand wants minimum tourists with BIG money
To spend to compensate for the everyday general tourists
And as long as they are making money from the new restrictions they will stay as they are .
Just my thoughts 😉
Richard **************
So if the rich will take up the slack, a ticket to the Grand Palace will run around $2000. They will still need a few hundred people a day to get back to normal numbers. Hotel rooms will run $5000 a night. Which rich people will pay that...for Thailand?
another thing that is very relevant to the government, and actually a big factor, is that the major tourist areas are experiencing a form of environmental rehabilitation. Tourist number have decimated many areas, and now they are being given a chance to recover. This started over a year ago at, I think it was, Maya Bay. Now they are seeing other areas experiencing positive rehabilitation the longer the masses of tourists are gone.
that is one factor the current vaccine clinical tests have not determined yet. They do have a good idea it can prevent infection in most cases, but the testing has not reached the stages to understand if someone can be a carrier even though they are not infected. They are speeding these vaccines into production under emergency exceptions, so the normal advanced testing to determine that have not been done yet.
all... it was demonstrated with measles and mumps. A vaccine helps your immune system fight a virus. If a virus can get to you, you can then pass it on to an other individual.
Its not my impression from reading the reports . Super spreaders apparently are a non event from some of the ones I read and that is 80% of the group feared by hospital and health workers .

Thai health authorities have already stated that quarantines will stay in place until most of Thai people are vaccinated, as from experience with the current quarantine restrictions, and the number of foreigners that are showing up infected in quarantine after being tested, proves to them that doctors, for the right price, can not be trusted to not fake covid-19 test results, and simply not giving tests and faking the documents. As most should know, not all doctors are honest, for the right price, and, there are too many showing up infected for it to simply be false positives from the tests. As a result Thailand does not trust anyone from anywhere.
George *******
Dude you don't need to be conspirator to understand basic stuff about this life. How old are you, 8?
George *******
They can earn their bread only if you are sick. Let it sink...
although I agree with most of what you say, the idea that people are testing positive is proof that people are faking covid tests is completely false. Of course it is possible some are, but that is in no way proof. There is a reason for the quarantine and multiple tests. It can take quite a while for an infected person to test positive and they can also get infected between taking the test and boarding the plane.
consider what all the "honest" doctors in the US and a few other countries did to contribute to the opioid epidemic with their over prescribing of Oxycontin.
has it crossed anyone's mind that they are being infected whilst they are in quarantine? Maybe the cleaning techniques are lacking? Maybe the air conditioning is harboring the virus? There are way too many negative tests needed to leave our country (s) that if they brought it with them the whole plane full would have been infected. Never met a bent doctor in Australia..
in the only incident of a female in quarantine that caught the virus at the hotel (they figured in the gym), the health department banned that hotel from accepting any more into quarantine, and required that they fully disinfect the hotel. It is not surprising, but not a single case has shown up in quarantine from anyone coming from Australia in the last four months, and I follow those numbers closely. India and the US are the current infection leaders with the Middle East countries catching up fast.
we the conspiracy theorists do not have intelengent answers as we lack intelegence....
Maybe someone else can explain why they make the vaccine compulsory...
Tom *******
Vasileios Vasileiadis For once the conspiracy theorists are the only sane one ones talking. The rest are bloody idiots—like turkeys voting for Christmas. I used to be one but now all my conspiracy theories have come true so I’ve nothing to believe in.
say we get the vaccine by February-March then it takes about a month to protect you, then comes along Songkran, the Thai government would be thinking to help subdue the virus it will be better to open the borders after Songkran which is April, that’s what I’m thinking they will do.
from what I’m hearing by talking to people in Thailand, if you have a wife\children or are going for business in Thailand they will let you in, a tourist like me they won’t let in at the moment.
People have been turning up in Thailand and have sent back home. Absolutely stupid why let them on the plane in the first place.

Yeah, doesn't it take TWO shots, at least two weeks apart?
Then you have to wait about a month for full effect?
Even when you are vaccinated you can still spread the virus. Don't expect that you can enter Thailand in the next 2 years without having a good reason. Sure not as a tourist.
Ralph Meene there’s some real professional idiots in this thread. They’re telling you that even if you’re vaccinated you won’t be covered for an apparent disease that 99.8% recover from? When they can only guarantee at best a 70% efficacy rate? With a vaccine never before produced? Despite years of trying? But now miraculously in only 8 months? By makers who refuse to accept responsibility and demand legal immunity for side effects and deaths? And you still have to keep getting the jabs? And still will have to wear masks? And social distance? And aren’t inoculated against the disease? Can nobody see the absolute insanity of what’s going on? Even a small child can see through this. Wake the fuck up!
