Why was my 90-day online report rejected this time after years of successful submissions?

My 90 day on line rejected for first time this week. I have been successfully submitting my 90 day report on line for many years. I had to visit JOMTIEN imm office to do manually and ask why it was rejected this time. Answer was that their newly updated system incorrectly uses passport number in use at date of last entry into Thailand. I obtained my new passport many years ago and have never left the country since 2009. Immigration had transferred all my data from old passport to new passport in 2010. Their new system rejected my application this time because my passport number was not the same. The officer explained that she used to handle the on line applications herself, but now it is done by their upgraded computer system. She apologized and did provide me with the new 90 day report without asking for any documentation. I asked if the same thing will happen next time I submit my on line 90 day application. Her response was that she did not know. Be aware now if you have changed your passport number since last entering Thailand when you attempt to do your next on line 90 day report.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user experienced a rejection of their 90-day online report for the first time after years of successful submissions. The issue arose because the immigration office's newly updated computer system incorrectly used the passport number associated with their last entry into Thailand, leading to a mismatch since they had obtained a new passport years prior. Despite resolving the issue in person and receiving the report, uncertainty remains about future online submissions. Other users shared similar experiences regarding online application rejections at Pattaya immigration and discussed potential issues related to data transfer from their previous passports.

Just a question, your last passport was 2010. How long is yours good for

I’ve been here like 7 years and have never done a 90 day report. Probably should look into that. 😂

They didn’t port any of the TM30 data and that was updated in December. Did mine last month and many people were also there with the same story. Online was rejected but nothing extra was requested to complete in office. Like you say they had to manually input something to make it all work again online.

many years ago I manually did my first TM30 form at the Imm office. They cut off the bottom of the approval and stapled it into my passport. Since then my detailed have never changed. Are you suggesting I should now do an on line TM 30 ?

the new system is linked to tm30 info and the key that joins them is passport number. So yes you have to have both using the same number. Technically should have done a new one back when you updated your passport years ago. In the old system there was no link and the tm30 was rarely checked. So yes a new one is required, you can register on line if you have the housebook, otherwise you can get the owner to register, complete the form and print off the pdf to keep.

not sure about your suggestion. My TM 30 form was manually completed in 2019 using my current passport number. So there should already be match in the imm system. I do have my house book.

sorry, misunderstood, it came across that you'd only ever done one TM30, which if you arrived in 2009 is when the first one should have been done. But regardless, the TM30 system has been replaced/upgraded, and the expectation is all effected residencies that have foreign residents/owners register on the new system to gaurentee data exists in the new system, your one of the many examples where the transfer didn't happen correctly. (Cant say for certain they transfered any data). But its pretty simple to register online, make up a name for your residence, fill in the address, upload a copy of the housebook. Then add your details against arrival date of today, leave departure blank, confirm its ok and print off the pdf. Then photocopy the pdf for future use when needed.

no need. They did it for you. Basically they transferred your TM30 details to their new system manually when you reported in person.
