Yes, from 01 July 2024 to 31 December 2024, 8 European countries have free visa exemption entry into Laos for 15 days stay as part of a Visit Laos Tourism Year 2024 visa promotion. These 8 European countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.

However, the Lao PDR government has not said one way or the other that they will continue this visa promotion or not in 2025....

As the DTV is a 5 Year Multiple Entry Visa and an Extension on a single DTV Entry would be for 180 days, it is unknown as of now and might be better off to not get an Extension, but just a Border Bounce to get a new 180 day Entry.... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

The very first window everyone encounters when accessing the Thai E-Visa Website from anywhere is the following window where you have to affirmatively acknowledge by clicking "Acknowledge"

"...

It is important to note that you are only able to apply if you are currently not in Thailand.

...."

Lao Visa on Arrival (Lao VoA) = USD $40.- paid using clean, crisp Dollar banknotes for nearly all passports, except for Chinese passports = USD $20.-

1.) the DTV is a Multiple Entry Visa, and

2.) any Extensions of Stay based on DTV are exempt from needing a Re-Entry Permit issued by Thai Immigration

in this case, in my personal opinion, that condo is fine and making a booking for another accommodation that you are not going to use is redundant....
Dca *****
Well, your accommodation is that condo you had rented for 6 months....

Also, curious why you bothered to apply for and buy a Single Entry Tourist E-Visa from the Thai Embassy in Canberra back in October 2024 instead of just making a free visa exempt entry into Thailand: just like you plan on doing tomorrow (3 January 2025)??
Dca *****
Sure, why not?....

But, do note the correct terminology is = 60-day visa exemption

So unfortunate!

Yes, you could try going to the Phuket Immigration Office, but most likely, would have to return back to Phuket Airport Immigration to get the correct date of 26 June 2025 for your latest entry today (on 29 December 2024).
