That's great that your local Thai Immigration Office at Chiang Mai corrected your Entry Stamp (Stay duration) for you instead of making you go back to your Land Border Entry Point (Poipet / Aranyaprathet) !

Happy New Year! And, how seamless was the interaction with Chiang Mai Thai Immigration Officials (both about correcting your Entry Stamp and doing your 90-Days Report)?

Yup, just do a border bounce throughout the 5 years of the DTV is the easiest, straightforward thing to do

As a DTV Extension will have an Exemption of Re-Entry Permit like the ED Plus Extension, quite curious when someone exits and re-enters on a DTV Extension, will they get stamped in only up to that DTV extension, or will they get a new 180 days?? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

You can get a copy at any of 928 District Offices (878 Districts in the Provinces + 50 Districts of Bangkok Metropolis) throughout the country

You can also get an English version of it issued by the District Office (even Red-Stamped English version)

As for what you need exactly, at least your passport.... having your Thai wife go along will probably make things go smoothly as most documents are based on a Thai citizen's records per se....

Anonymous participant I am also of the opinion that you can travel elsewhere during processing of any visa, but if the particular Thai Embassy/Consulate where you submit a Thai E-Visa application doesn't require specific residency documents, then travel to other countries would be fine too....

Thank you very much for your detailed report on your DTV and children's DTV's and the intervening travel during the processing of your DTV's

In addition to the free visa promotion, those countries that have had permanent 15 days free visa exemption entry into Laos are: Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Japan. Those countries that have had permanent 30 days free visa exemption are: Russia, Mongolia, South Korea, and the 9 fellow ASEAN member countries

Perhaps your friend has a passport from the 5 visa waiver countries that would get 90 days stay? Or, perhaps they already had a Thai E-Visa from a Thai Embassy/Consulate?
