Does the passport affect the chances of getting a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) for Thailand?

Anyone know if the passport plays a big role in terms of getting DTV?

Applied Friday for DTV through Dubai embassy as I have UAE Investor Residency, uploaded my Emirates ID and Drivers Licence just in case.

I have an Estonian company with what I work with, I wrote an employment letter from the company to me basically stating I can work any where and have salary of 10k euro monthly. With a wet signature.

As for the bank statement I sent them a Wio Bank PDF showing a balance of more than 70k AED.

I have German was already once to Thailand on visa waiver for 18 days.

Current status is Pending Document Check, only problem I’m currently not in Dubai.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The passport itself is not the primary concern when applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand; rather, it is crucial to apply from the country where you are physically located. The Thai Embassy/Consulate's jurisdiction and requirements based on one's location play a significant role. Applicants need to ensure they are in the country while their application is in process. Documentation needed can vary, with some embassies requiring stricter proof of financial standing and other specific documents.

it doesn't matter which passport a DTV E–Visa Applicant uses (dual/multiple nationalities), but have to use the passport where you are physically located and submit a DTV E–Visa Application to whichever Thai Embassy/Consulate is located at or has jurisdiction over where you where physically located when submitting your DTV E–Visa Application.

So, the alternative response to your question is: it is more about which particular Thai Embassy/Consulate you submitted a DTV E–Visa Application than any particular passport (except for passport holder of certain countries where a month additional processing time is need for approval from the Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the Thai Embassy/Consulate can issue a Thai E–Visa for certain nationalities)

Where are you physically? Why did you apply there if not there?

@John ******
currently in germany, I applied from UAE as that’s where my official residency is, if I apply through Germany they require from me a certificate of residency which I cannot provide.

Anonymous participant so basically you lied about your location on your application. I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope for success.

Anonymous participant - I understand your rational, but that is against the Thai government’s policy. You are supposed to apply where you are physically located. If you are in a location that doesn’t allow you to apply, you need to travel to a location that allows you. If they find out, that is an automatic rejection.

You must be in the country you apply from and remain in that country until the process completes

oh boy Dubai very very very difficult i gat my DTV via the thai embassy in Dubai after 2 weeks and they ask alot of additional documents ( digital bank statements NOT eligible for DTV ) you need to go to the bank by your self and get a statement from the bank stamp in each page

they need portfolio, official letter signed and stamp indicates i can work remotely in Thailand with full details about my job, vision and mission of the company, commercial licensed, commercial registration, tenancy contract, round flight tickets fully paid directly with the airlines ( tourist agency booking NOT acceptable ) hotel booking or accommodation in Thailand for at least one month , i know it's creazy but DTV is harder than i thought
