One thing I would strongly advise. If you have a Thai speaking partner, take them with you and let them do the the talking. It’s far easier for bank staff who don’t speak any language other than Thai to say sorry cannot do. It worked for me on two occasions.
I’m not going to get into a word war with you, and I don’t think I’ve missed the point at all. We are all individuals and have our own way of putting things across, which some may find demeaning , insulting and down right rude. You see Tod as a lout, part begrudging helper etc etc. While others find the information offered most helpful. I can assure you from comments on this and another site well known to us both, t the majority find Tod’s help and advice very welcoming. None of us know everything. All I was trying to establish was that when he realised he was wrong, he was man enough to stand up and apologies. This is something that a lot of proud, self opinionated people would not have the guts to do.
