My retirement visa is due for renewal shortly. I’m fairly sure I have all relevant paperwork. However, one thing I’m not sure about. I rent an apartment and it’s in my name. Will the rental contract be enough for proof of residency, or, will I need to get a residency certificate from the British Embassy.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing a retirement visa in Thailand, a rental contract in your name generally suffices as proof of residency. A residency certificate from the British Embassy is not typically required unless specified by immigration authorities.
