I’ve just seen in another site that there have been changes to the reporting when spending more than twenty four hours outside your own province. Also there appear to be changes to the ninety day reporting. Can anyone here translate these changes to plain English.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent discussions indicate that there have been changes in the requirements for expatriates in Thailand regarding the reporting of their whereabouts after spending over 24 hours outside their home province, as well as updates to the 90-day reporting process. However, there is considerable confusion regarding these changes, and it is advised to check directly with your local immigration office for the most accurate and relevant guidelines. Prior experience suggests that the application of these rules can vary significantly by office, and establishing a rapport with a specific officer may help navigate the system effectively.

I have seen that other site, and it’s chaos. The click-bait/misleading title of the post, the changed regulations, and the confusion of those commenting, boil down to this:

What are the requirements of your local immigration office? You need to check with them. Try to stick with only one officer there, if possible.

No matter what the published regs say, it’s what they do at your local office that counts. They have the power to assess penalties, withhold extensions or make your life easier.

I’ve learned to take the internet scuttlebutt with a grain of salt and enjoy peace of mind.

—This advice comes from 17 years of successfully navigating “the system,” and dealing with nine immigration offices from Bangkok to Nong Khai: Changwattana (BKK), Korat, Mahasarakham, Nong Khai, Mukdahan, Udon Thani-Ek Udon, Udon Thani-Central, Khon Kaen, and Nong Bua Lamphu. Why so many? When I was living in one place, the office you had to report to was changed multiple times.

Like everything in Thailand, same same, but different when you're discussing the requirements of different IOs.
