I have a retirement extension, and will be returning to BKK on Saturday 21st September. As this is the weekend, I’m assuming that it will be OK for me to register my TM30 at Chaengwattana on Monday 23rd. Anyone else been in the same predicament, and was there a problem.

Can anyone confirm whether or not Chaengwattana immigration insist on reporting for a TM30 update if you spend a weekend in a hotel outside the province. Assuming the hotel has registered your stay with Immigration.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a retirement extension and plans to register their TM30 at Chaengwattana after returning to Bangkok on a weekend. They seek confirmation on whether it is permissible to report on the following Monday and if there are any issues with having spent a night in a hotel outside the province, assuming the hotel properly registered their stay. Community comments provide insight, suggesting online registration via a landlord, sharing experiences related to TM30 reporting, and mentioning TM28 forms as part of the process.

Fill out TM28 to update that you are back.

It’s my understanding that you have to fill out a TM28. The landlords complete the TM28. You should call because that part of immigration is open on the weekend in Chiang Mai. Don’t know about other BKK.

My wife and I leaving soon and returning late on a Friday. Checked with immigration if ok to come in on the following Monday, said no worries. Not open on weekends. Fingers crossed he keeps his words.

I certainly wasn’t trying to cause problems with other members, just seriously wanting others opinion on a potential problem. Please all, let’s not be falling out and insulting each other. We all should be there to help when we can.

why the need to say such words?? tm30 IS causing quite some friction and frustration in BKK. that's the fact. seriously you guys are unbelievable. as I said, good luck - good night

is full of shit. I've lived in Papaya, Korat and Ko Samui and I've reported on the Monday because Immigration was closed when I've returned either late on a Friday nite or on a Saturday. Never had a problem, and if there ever had been, I'd have immediately asked to speak to the boss.

firstly, was it the Chaengwttana office that you reported to. Secondly, you say you were ALL fined, surely this was because were late reporting. I just can not see them fining someone who is reporting at the earliest opportunity, ie the day the office re-opening after the weekend shut down.

I'm not scare-mongering at all. I hope you're not fined. But they are treating this issue in an exceptionally tough and often unreasonable way. My family has been fined 3 times so far (3 of us, one each) despite making best efforts to do the TM30. The last one (mine) saw just 2 desks and more than 278 people (I was 278) wait to sort things out. And I watched religiously as all of us, without exception, were fined, no excuses holding up. I wish you luck

if he is, I would be very disappointed, as I thought the object of this group was to help each other, not to take the piss.

Mark Stevens is scaremongering. Immigration is closed on the weekends in Bangkok so you report when they reopen. You will not be fined.

but how can you report if immigration is not open. That’s just ridiculous. Do you know of any one that’s been fined for not reporting until immigration opens again after closing for the weekend.
Mark *********
24 hours is 24 hours regardless of immigration being closed or not, They're taking this exceptionally seriously so be prepared for a fine. They're fining most people at this time

thanks for your reply, and maybe I will give that option some thought next time. In the meantime I would like a specific answer to the question for this return visit.
