What documents do I need from my bank for my visa extension renewal at Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok?

I’m due to renew my extension next month at Chaeng Wattana BKK. This will be my first renewal using the 65k Baht per month transfer to my Bangkok Bank account. I understand that I need to provide a letter from my bank confirming 12 monthly international transfers of 65k Baht into my account. Can anyone tell me if the local bank branch where I have my account will be aware of this requirement, and be able to issue this letter without too much hassle. Also, has anyone got any experience of the time scale for the bank to issue this confirmation letter.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to renew their visa extension at Chaeng Wattana, Bangkok and needs to provide a letter from their bank confirming 12 monthly international transfers of 65k Baht. Comments suggest that the local bank may not be familiar with this requirement, and the user should ask the bank for a printout of their account activity highlighting the foreign transfers. It's recommended to obtain this letter on the same day as the immigration application, ideally at a major branch where staff are more likely to understand the requirements. Some users mention that Bangkok Bank may only provide 6 months of statements immediately, so planning ahead is essential.

Immigration requires the above letter to be signed and dated THE DAY you apply for your extension.

Bangkok Bank is generally pretty good about providing this.

Just show this example to the bank. If they don’t know about it (usually a small branch), have them call headquarters.

I’m not sure that you need a letter in BKK CW

Do you still need this letter if you have an updated bankbook ?

unless this is a brand new requirement the letter is good for 7 days.

I think you will find that immigration at CW accept a letter confirming the 65k baht monthly deposits up to one week old

So basically, you need to make a trip to your bank just before you go to immigration on the same day. Get going early!

By the way, Bangkok Bank would only do 6 months of statements on the spot. They said 12 months of statements would require a week’s notice. I took the six months’ of statements and immigration accepted it.

Different IOs, banks = results may vary.

Make a “pre-trip” if you can, to both bank and immigration to get your ducks in order before the “real” trip. And do the real trip 2-3 weeks before your extension deadline to give you time to jump through more unexpected hoops if necessary. This MO has always worked well in my favor. Two successful retirement extensions and counting...

Chaeng Wattana has bank branches for all the major Thai banks. Do it there and it'll take you five minutes because they already know all about it.

Yes , I was a little surprised and disappointed because I’d heard they could do the twelve months deposit printouts. Never mind, at least I’m finding out things before I apply for my first extension using the new method.

Oh how I wish we could go back to the days when I just had to send confirmation of my annual income to the British Embassy, and get a confirmation letter from them. This was readily accepted by immigration. Unfortunately I think we’re paying the price for the unscrupulous agents and the “under the table” visas.

I did enquire at the Bangkok Bank in the CW building. I was told that if this is not your branch they can only do up to three months printouts.

Also, you should ask for a letter confirming your balance, even though that doesn’t make sense in this case. Be sure to go to the branch where you opened the account and they should be able to do it for you while you wait.

They probably won’t be aware of it but what you need to ask for is a printout of the last 12 months of activity and ask them to highlight the foreign transfers.

thanks for your reply. However, in (another group), it was stated that immigration need a list only of international transfers for the last 12 months. All the last 12 months activity would involve too much paperwork.
