From what I could see it's 23kgs check in. 7kgs hand luggage within the size limits and one extra small carry on bag free. I assume this last item would just be the sort of small bag you would carry your document's in.

Just did Bangkok to London a couple of weeks ago. Did the electronic check-in which made it easier at the airport. Just had to drop bag off and that was it. As for seat selection I didn't bother as flying alone, and personally not bothered where I sit.

I've used the e-visa a number of times in the past and every time it's taken 2-3 days. Very good service.

Surely the way to go is solar panels, a battery bank and inverter to give 240 volt. Used to live on a boat in the UK and that's how it was done. But here with the amount of sun I would think it would be a really good option.

If you have a non o visa then not a problem. If you are travelling on a tourist visa or a visa exempt then you may be asked by the airline to show proof of onward travel.
