Evening, we're completely off grid so I need to buy a DC chest freezer. Lazada and Shoppee have limited options. Anyone know of shop/web site in Thailand I could try. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat seeking a DC chest freezer in Thailand for an off-grid lifestyle asked for recommendations beyond the limited options on Lazada and Shopee. Suggestions included checking HomePro, marine suppliers like Octopus Electrical, and exploring Alibaba. Participants discussed the feasibility of using DC appliances versus AC appliances with inverters, as well as solar panel setups and other alternatives like propane freezers.
8 panels, 4 x 200ah and 12 x 100ah batteries for house. Freezer will be run off seperate panel and single 100ah battery. We've got 4 other separate panels for submersible pump that can, if needed, be added to either set of panels. Also got 7.5kw generator, for just in case scenario, but not used in anger yet!
i did the solar chest feeezer thing for a while. Problem with the a/c type is your inverter is gonna always be on because its gotta constantly monitor the temp. I searched for the most efficient inverter i could find but it drained the battery and shut down often. A company called Danfoss used to sell dc compressors to convert ac units to dc. Dont know if theyre still around. A way around the inverter always running is to get a dc thermostat that can take the inverter out of sleep mode to save your batteries
You definitely don't want to run appliances at 12 or 24v, a pure sine wave inverter is the way to go. I ran a house using solar at 48v through an inverter.
Anything at 12v requires wiring the size of car battery cables.

You'll get nothing of any size and cooling capability with 12v. Solar plus battery banks and sizable inverter. 100k

Surely the way to go is solar panels, a battery bank and inverter to give 240 volt. Used to live on a boat in the UK and that's how it was done. But here with the amount of sun I would think it would be a really good option.
You're a f##kwit! "I don't care what a dictionary says...... no contact to the modern world" So only animal pelts and stone tools allowed too? What a fu##in moron! Back under your bridge, Richard Cranium
Maybe....if you're ret4rd3d, deluded or from America! For normal people, it means using energy derived from solar, wind or anything else not provided by a company..for whatever reason. And you're a Top Contributor to this group? what a joke. The title of the group says it all but you troll people asking legitimate questions! Like I said, go hide under your bridge, knob end
those that can’t have an intelligent conversations always segue into mudslinging and ridicule to inflate their egos due to the limited IQ they posses…they do this to intimidate due to their lack of debate plus the emasculation that their significant other subjects them to on a daily basis….you’re a keyboard warrior with the mental capacity of a 10 year old….
And where was your intelligent conversation on your original post, oh enlightened one! Like I said before, apparently your a 'top contributor' to this group but posted nothing of value to anyone except yourself, to stroke your own sense of importance and intelligence and ridicule another member. Perhaps you should read the contradiction in your last answer, I'll give you a clue to help you along......" those that can't have an intelligent conversation, mud slinging etc" and then proceed to do just that in the rest of the post. I have the answers I need from helpful members of this group now so you can trot along now
yes, and I drive a Flintstone car and make light by rubbing two sticks together .... or am I supposed to live in a cave as the nearest government electric is a kilometer away?
