My advice as a foreigner married to a Thai national and a trained school psychologist from the U.S: First arrive on a 60 day tourist visa (which can be extended 30 more days) and figure out which part of the country you want to settle in, then ask local, long term foreigners who live there who the trusted and reliable agents are to help set up your business visa and work permit. Get multiple references from recent clients. Never pay the total amount up front for an agent.
As for your child, I recommend exploring more holistic approaches to ADHD/ADD. Some examples: do they have enough nutritional sources of magnesium and zinc? How much screen time do they get? How much sugar or processed food is in their diet? Do you provide them with choices and timed challenges that are fun for them to accomplish? Sensory learning and high energy sports / activitiesโฆmental health is not really a great service here in Thailand. Of course if you feel medication is bestโฆyou know your child better than anyone but even as a school psychologist I donโt believe in it..and it can cause many issues later on.
**Unless that has changed since the week and half since I witnessed this with the two foreigner men in front of me at the Savannakhet embassy. For me as a woman foreigner they never ask for financial but I also got a single entry non-o.
Yes the two foreigner men in front of me in line this past week did that when they didnโt have the proof of funds for the multi entry. Make sure you have all the other paperwork in order, including the Kor Ror 2 and 3.
You can get the single entry non-o at Savannahkhet without showing the funds. Then make sure your funds have been in the account long enough before you go for the one year extension within country.
