Theoretically yes but chances of you getting stopped are fairly high as you’re clearly here on the wrong visa. You should apply for a tourist visa next
Got an education visa there a few days ago and all visa fees are paid on the first day between 8:30-13:00 or something. The next day of pickup starts at 13:30 and it's a minute process
Visa fee is non refundable if application gets denied
Make sure you pay with US$ and all bills require to be in excellent state
I applied for an education visa at Bangkok about two weeks ago. Prices seem to be anywhere around 28-35k for a 9 month. Thai language. You might wanna consider the same if you like this country enough to stay in for so long:)
Usually your rental agent does this for you. Take your rental contract to an immigration office and get it done for free. You basically just need to prove that you have a contract that mentions the period you’re accomodated for. The TM30 is proof of address carried in your passport. Submitting a TM30 too late can result in a fine.
What’s important to note is that you have to re-do your TM30 everytime you leave the kingdom, even if it’s just for an hour to do a border run
If you plan on staying here longterm, you might as well just start out with a student visa and learn Thai. It’s a lot cheaper than an Elite Visa and the Thai comes in handy later. Nevertheless the Elite Visa is the correct way to do it for non-retirees that want to stay longterm. That’s what it’s designed for afaik
I went last tuesday and it was seriously crowded. Had to wait 4 hours total for my visa exempt entry extension. Met another guy who’s been waiting since 2AM to extend his education visa and he finished half an hour after me.
Anyway, past monday was a special day on which the offices were closed so maybe that had to do with the extra crowd
