How Can I Transfer My Visa Stamps to a New Passport After My Current One Was Damaged?

Went for another 3 month extension last week. Kept the passport in my pocket and it accidentally made it’s way to the washing dryer. The stamps are unrecognizable as most of the ink has been washed away.

My 90 day report is fine, my TM30 looks a little washed up too and my TM6 is fine also.

I have about three passport pages left anyway so I’m gonna have to transfer my visa’s over to a new passport soon. Can anyone explain how I should go by this step by step? I’m from Dutch nationality. Would be great if I could just purchase a new passport and then have them put fresh stamps into that one without additional costs. I assume my data is registered in the computer anyway.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on transferring visa stamps from a damaged passport to a new one after accidentally washing it. They have received advice to first apply for a new passport at their embassy, then visit the local immigration office to transfer their visa stamps, ensuring they have the necessary documentation ready. Basic steps include obtaining a new passport, gathering required documents, and visiting immigration with both passports.

Something similar happened to me about 5 years ago. I didn't cover my passport properly when caught out by a thunderstorm whilst I rode my bike. It washed away the color in my photo. It was officially classified as damaged.......In the end, I did the following: 1) Applied for a new passport at the British embassy (well technically the VFS service), 2) got a new passport in 4-5 weeks, 3) received a letter/document about transferring my extension of stay, 4) Then I went to my local immigration office (Phitsanulok) to transfer the extensions from one passport to the other. I can't remember if I had to pay a fee for that though.....The whole process cost me around 5000baht plus travel to Bangkok. You mentioned earlier that you didn't want to spend 500baht on a trip to immigration to get clarification. Another 10% on your costs might be worth it if they ask for anything else, and could possibly save you money if you make a mistake.... :)

No matter what advice you get here it's up to the IO you go speak to your going to have to go to Bangkok to get a new passport could take a couple weeks so I wouldn't worry about 500 baht I would just get it done

Well atleast now I know I should first get a new passport, rather than just re-stamping my old one.

Contact the Dutch Embassy in Bangkok, make an appointment, get all documents needed before you visit them, apply for a new passport. When your new passport arrives, visit with both passports and the letter from your Embassy to transfer your Extension of Stay, your local Immigration Office. Depending on Office some copies are needed to make the transfer, which should be free of charge.

It will be better to start processing a new passport right now, then you can go over to immigration once everything else is sorted. You are not in a rush because your period of stay is still valid but to be safe have a new passport and stamp transfers.

Simple:

Get a new Passport, transfer stamps. All documentations are in the machine.

Khun Kurt Yeah that’s what I’d do if it wasn’t for this group, but I’d rather just ask for advice here so I don’t potentially waste half my day and 500 baht travel costs

In my life a deed and or a passport would never end up in any household machine....

Yeah my girlfriend has been washing my clothes and didn’t check pockets. My fault for keeping it in there, but I’m just too used to being single 😝

Actually I think this is my last page. Writing is still clear but the stamps are definitely gone. You can still see 20 June 2020 very very vaguely in the top right
