What Should I Do About My 90-Day Report If I’m Traveling Abroad?

So apparently I was supposed to do a 90 day report on 5th of March, but I’m flying out on the 9th for a new ED visa in Penang.

I’ll be returning on the 12th of March.

I’ve heard that there’s a 7 days grace period so I won’t be fined initially.. but I’m wondering how many days I’m at when I fly back from Penang.

Since I’ll be returning on the 12th, that’d be exactly the 97th day and I don’t think I’ll be able to make a report right after as my plane lands at 15:15. Or does the counter freeze whilst I’m in Penang? Giving me a few extra days to get it all done.

Any advice on how I can avoid that 2,000 baht fine would be appreciated:)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is unsure about their 90-day reporting requirements since they are traveling to Penang and will return to Thailand on the 12th of March. They are concerned about being fined for not reporting their stay before leaving the country and want to know if the reporting clock resets upon re-entry.

The grace period is for making a report, NOT for leaving the country. If you don't do the report before you leave, you stand the risk of a 2k fine when you next visit immigration.

Flying in two hours so no chance 😕 I’ll report back in 90 days if I was actually fined or not

You are reporting that you're stayed 90 days inside Thailand. When you leave and re-enter, the clock resets to 90 days from your return again.

So the next time I’ll go to the IO for a 90 day report is 90 days after landing on the 12th of March?
