Looks like I messed up and all the bus tickets from Chiang Mai to Mae Sai are sold out for this friday. Luckily I still got till saturday until my visa expires.

Can anybody tell me if the borders are also open on saturdays?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the availability of transportation from Chiang Mai to Mae Sai with an emphasis on the border crossing schedule. Several comments confirm that the Mae Sai border is open every day, and there are various travel options available, including local buses and border run companies.

I thought they have border run companies too, why not use them for the ride. Sounds easier than having to use local transport.

people confuse the rules about not asking for or mentioning agents that get people visas inside the country with the fact it's totally OKAY to talk about companies that take you to the border to get a new visa exempt entry or that take you to a thai consulate in another country to get a visa.

can ask n get recommendations, no problem. We just not allow companies or people who “push” paper

We're not allowed to ask about those in here and I feel like it wouldn't make that much of a difference in price honestly. You can't beat the price of local transport imo

Why not get the greenbus to Chiang Rai, then get the local bus to Mae sai,mit cost's about 30 baht and takes and our. It's comfortable enough, and cool with all the windows and doors open.

Yes, Chiang Rai I meant 😂 . Oh well, you have your ticket straight to Mae Sai now for Saturday. But in future, if the tickets to Mae Sai are sold out, you can get the greenbus to Chiang Rai then get the local bus feom there (I usually do this anyway, give my legs a stretch and have a beer)
