TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can do a fly-in fly-out after completing two land border crossings within the year. They also inquire if the exemption period for border crossings begins anew with the start of the year 2020. Responses from the community confirm that fly-in fly-out is possible, and the border crossing exemption indeed resets at the start of each calendar year.

Have a Plan B in case you can’t get back into Thailand anymore.

A few days ago yes that was me, yes I have a degree but you can only work for 4 year without a teaching licence you can only get that if you have a Masters or PGCE. I understand what you are saying but when you have built a life here and rule changes are brought in. Ive always tried to follow the rules and do the right thing, Ive applied at the right times but been let down by schools or had the rules change half way through the application. Thanks for the comments.

And I believe there are American and British universities which have programs in Thailand in collaboration with Thai universities offering degrees.

if you are an University Student in a Masters Degree in Education program, I believe you would get your Ed Visa. The university can assist you in obtaining the Ed Visa.

Yes thats an option Ive thought about and doing the ED visa would have given me the time to do that and learn some time at the same time. But I have the stamp in my passport given to me when I applied for my 2nd Tourist visa and I think getting any type of visa is unlikely while thats there.

it's sad that you are facing such a situation. Especially as Thailand needs good teachers. How about enrolling in a Master's degree in Education program at a Thai University....a two year program available on weekend study. Woukd get you two tears of Ed Visa plus teaching opportunity once again upon completion of Masters study.

Yes, you can fly out and in, from KL it could be done in one day. The maximum 2 times land border crossings without a visa is in one calendar year, 01 Jan - 31 Dec and then it resets.
James ********
And Yes... the land border crossing a year begins January 1, 2020.

I asked this ...but no reply...

Where were you when you said 15 out of 20 were declined today?

Do you have a Bachelor's degree? If so teaching is a possibility.

Volunteering another possibility with an NGO.

Your choices to stay in Thailand are slim.

Return to work in UK til age 50+. Then try the retirement route...or until you can buy the 5 year Elite visa 500,000 Thai baht. But that poses another problem: one cannot work on elite visa. .

Yes it was to study Thai, applied Vientiane, Ive worked the rest of the time on Non B visas I had to get a second tourist visa due to the changes that have recently happened when you apply for a Non ED visa only 1 unit at a time where before it was 2 unit.
James ********
@Stewart **************
where did you apply for the Ed Visa? Was it to study Thai or ???
Tristan *********
Theoretically yes but chances of you getting stopped are fairly high as you’re clearly here on the wrong visa. You should apply for a tourist visa next
