John Macom Authority means "issuing authority". Not all countries separate the one from the other. My German passport says the "issuing authority" is the German embassy in Bangkok. This is what I wrote on my application and it was approved. I wouldn't write something that's not on the info page of your passport. A German passport does not have the "issuing country" field the way that a Canadian passport does.
I have a German passport that I renewed in Bangkok. Under "Issuing Authority" it states "Botschaft Bangkok", which is exactly what I wrote on my application and was approved.
Hmmmm, I wonder if they sent a document request email to the agent's email and they didn't respond to it or submitted something that wasn't legit. If you guys try again I'd suggest scrapping the agency bit and only giving the embassy your own contact details just to be sure. Really sorry that happened to you and hope your partner still gets his DTV!
Could be maybe something is fishy with the agent and subsequently with the documents? We applied via soft power Muay Thai in Hanoi and were both approved pretty quickly. Had all the required gym docs and 6 months of bank statements but did it without an agent.
It just sounds a bit odd because when they asked my husband for a further document, they sent an email outlining exactly what it was that needed to be done. It seems strange that they would reject without a reason, so that you wouldn't know what you did wrong and could amend it for a future application. My husband was also previously on an ED visa.
I wouldn't say this is a factor. I applied in February and set my return date to mid April. My visa was approved in 4 business days in Hanoi. I'd say there are different factors involved.
any ideas as to why the Thai driver's license is important? I don't drive and don't have a license in any country. I wonder if they'd refuse me based solely on that.
You could try calling them, phone number is on their website. I called them and got someone on the line very quickly. I think it depends on your question if they are able to answer or not. It didn't seem like the person who picked up when I called was actually involved in processing visas, though.
