Can I top up my TrueMoney Wallet in Thailand with an international debit or credit card?

Hi everyone! 👋

I recently registered for TrueMoney Wallet in Thailand using just my passport. I’ve also applied for a Thai driving license, which I should get by tomorrow. Once I upload it, my account will be fully verified and flexible to use.

My question is about topping up the wallet: Can I use my international debit or credit card, or am I limited to cash top-ups at 7-Eleven or ATMs?

Can someone please explain how it works for foreigners? Thanks a lot in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the methods for topping up their TrueMoney Wallet in Thailand, specifically whether they could use an international debit or credit card instead of being limited to cash top-ups at locations like 7-Eleven. Community responses indicated that top-ups are typically done through a Thai bank account or cash, citing that one can use TrueMoney machines or counters for cash deposits. There was also discussion about the driving license acquisition process and requirements.

Please explain how you "applied for a driving license and get it by tomorrow".

Usually you pass the tests and get it on the same day.

You said you applied for your thai drivers license? For me, it was like a normal dmv visit. Eye test, break reaction, 1 hr video and then got my license immediently. How did you apply?

You said, you applied with just your passport. No need to show a long term visa and if there is, will DTV be accepted for True Wallet?

You can also top it up in cash at any True payment machine (the ones that look like ATMs) at True shops.

do you mean "after" you have topped up? Then yes you use the app to Scan a QR code to pay or at 7-Eleven use the Pay button to allow your QR code to be scanned

Yeah can real only top via Thai bank account or cash in 7-11 or affiliated shops i.e True mobile I think...

So I sometimes send it to a friend with This bank account and then they fire it across...

Plus limited to 30 "PERSONAL QR" Scan payments per month....

Look into Moreta app for scan payments very useful & handy as can link to Wise or Revoult or other banks etc & supposedly meant to be able to scan personal QR codes by January and can also use in other S.E Asian countries too...
