I don't physically need to be in Hanoi or HCM, right?

I just need proof that I'm in Vietnam - boarding pass, stamped passport, receipts...

Hello. Has anyone tried to get the DTV while in Hoi An? Or do you have to apply only in HCMC or Hanoi? Thank you.

I am doing a border run to Vietnam at the end of January. Can anyone recommend any nice places to stay we are staying for seven days Not too expensive 

Looks like we need to do a quick border bounce for the kids in order to get them their education visas. Since they’re in school, we only have 48hours max (so a weekend essentially). We want to make the best of it so wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a fun overnight destination where we could play tourists for a bit. None of us have ever been to any of the neighbouring countries so open to anything! We’re leaving from Bangkok and would rather fly than take land transportation.
