Hi, does anyone have experience with applying for DTV being a new remote worker?

Situation is person has been on Ed visa for almost a year. They are now about to start remote work and apply for a DTV.

The work is legitimate remote online work with overseas company with contract. Can get letters, company registration etc if needed. Has required money in savings. Has lease already in place from time as student. Planning to apply in Hanoi.

Just concerned there’s no history of work with any employer previously. Has anyone else had issues applying with a new job?

Thanks !

Next week I am gonna apply in Jakarta and wanted to summarize all documents.

After the process I will share a detailled explanation about my experience there.

I will hand over in an ENVELOPE:

- Visa Application form

- 2 passphotos 3.5*4.5

- 5.6 Million IDR in cash

- INTRODUCTION LETTER applying for DTV workcation category, confirming can work remotely,

explaining my work, mentioning employer, position, salary and ability to take care of myself and my keen interest to live in Thailand

- REMOTE WORKING CONTRACT - employee can preform their duties remotely from any location abroad with wet stamp and signature from both parties

- 1 PAYSLIP from 1.10.24 (started to work for US Company with 1.09.24)

- BANK STATEMENTS: transfered savings from brooker and other accounts over 14k € a few days ago to wise account. On 1.10.24 first salary receivement, usually had just a few hundreds or thousands € on Account over the last couple month, provide 1-2 months statements

- PROOF OF CURRENT LOCATION: AIRBNB in Jakarta, receipt and pdf for visa purposes

-TRAVEL INSURANCE - it is mentioned in contract and supports the ability to support myself

I am from Germany, 2024 have been in Thailand for more than 180 days. More or less since 15.3 (with border runs and short travels) - stamp expiration 18.10

I have a rental Agreement(in Thailand) from 01.09.24 - open end.

In the remote working contract, which I signed in August, I have my current Thai address in - could ask for change, if necessary.

Any recommendations or adjustments? Appreciate any kind of help 🙏🏽

Just got my DTV approved from Thai embassy in Yangon. Here’s the process:

Got an online appointment two weeks prior. Arrived at the embassy at 9 am, 24th. Submitted all the documents. (Work contract, employment verification letter, six months of bank statement, six months’ payslips, rental contract in Thailand) .

The lady at the counter asked me to come back at 2 for an interview. The Thai staff who interviewed me was very kind. Asked usual questions about my job and why I wanted to live in Thailand. Paid 400 USD and was asked to collect the passport two days later.

The process was smooth. As long as you have your documents in place, I believe they won’t make it difficult for you.

Thanks to everyone who shared their experience here. 🙏

Hi apologies if these are dumb questions,

We are in Chicago,

I work remote for the US company (Analytics field) and also in the process of opening my LLC(had one before too doing ecom) and have an upcoming customer contract,

I have a proof of employment though it doesnt specify that I am remote,

Q1 will that be enough for Workation? Do I need to attach both, proof of employment and LLC/customer contract info?

Q2 in Chicago it only gives me option to apply online, so do I just attach all of it there?

Q3 I have a dependent, do i need a separate application for him? Do I file both at the same time? Attaching all the same docs for him?

TIA

I will be heading to Chaeng Watthana to get my 90-day non-O (wife) visa inked into my passport.

Other than my passport, is there anything else I need to bring?

Bank book update?

Does my wife also need to join or not?

Apologies if this has already been answered. Have done a search and couldn’t find specific answer to this.

I have emailed the embassy but have had no response.

ATTENTION MEMBERS

The eVisa portal for visas to thailand.

We get a lot of people posting questions about the eVisa website and the requirements for specific visas, etc.

You have to realize that the consulates/countries using the eVisa website each have their OWN criteria for the different visas (usually listed on that consulates' web-page).

Once you pick your country, and the appropriate thai consulate based on where you are in that country, you follow the criteria to get a visa from that specific consulate and your visa application is processed by that specific consulate.

This is why we say READ the requirements for the visa at the thai consulate you're applying at.

-Most consulates say you have to be IN the country where the thai consulate is located to apply for an eVisa thru them

-SOME consulates want confirmed hotel/lodging for the whole duration of your stay (on tourist visa), meaning they won't accept just a booking that isn't confirmed, where as some only need a few days or a reservation of booking

-Some consulates require proof of onward travel within the days you'll get stamped in for (on tourist visa), some don't require it

-Almost all consulates require you show proof of flight from the country where that consulate is to thailand although some are more flexible than others

-Processing time varies a LOT between the consulates <- meaning they are NOT the same :O Sometimes even between the consulates in the same country :/

So again, if you're applying for a visa to thailand thru the eVisa portal the first place you need to go to is the website of the consulate you're applying thru for requirements, processing time, etc

The Consulates are pretty good about emailing people for more information if they require it during the application process.

Go SLOW, take your time, get the data entered correctly, upload the asked for documentation. You can stop in the application process and save your progress then go back to it and resume applying.

READ the User Manual as it has good info if you haven't done an eVisa before.

I think right now there's 25 countries that participate in the eVisa system with 41 thai consulates in those countries using it.

Something to keep in mind is a single entry tourist visa and a single entry Non-Immigrant visa are both valid for 3 months after they're issued <- meaning you have 3 months to ENTER thailand and get stamped in for the amount of time that visa allows.

That means there's no reason to wait until shortly before you travel to apply for single entry visa and run the risk of it not being approved in time for your flight here.

We wish everyone success in their eVisa application endeavors (y)
