Crazy not to do online check-in. And Eva allows check-in 48 hours prior to departure - do it as soon as the window open and there's no way you won't be seated together (for free)
So this 65k does not have to come from a third party? In other words you can simply do a transfer from your home bank to a bank in Thailand. Is there anything to prevent you from recycling either some or all of the 65k over and over again?
I sent in a screen shot of my internet home page with a balance 100x what they require and they rejected and insisted I send in 6 months of statements. It's infuriating, but what can you do?*
I had an 8hr overstay and did not get an overstay stamp nor was I fined. But you could also do on-line check-in and avoid check-in queue altogether, then you could clear immigration just prior to expiry, then find a lounge to kill 6 hrs.
Why would they extend it? The intent was to boost tourism and I doubt there was any real impact. People who want to stay longer term have plenty of options, the 45 day VE was a nice convenience for them but I doubt it made a difference in tourism $$. Also they are on track to be fully recovered covid by 2024.
well I wonder if they would accept just a proposed booking - like a screen shot of the flights just before you press "purchase". Or you could upload a doc that just says, "my intended flights are as follows". But don't if they would accept.
