it won't spoil, the cargo hold is very cold. I bring several kg every year (Thai gf hooked on it). It's still chilled several hours after landing. And often I have no checked bags and I've carried in my hand luggage it's still ok - the overhead bins are not heated.
you also need to consider the exchange rate of doing a swift transfer - the low fee my be offset by an inferior exchange rate (not saying this is the case but you need to check)
I don't see the point. Arrived last night and there was no one in line, walked right up to the booth. Through in 2 minutes, only to have wait 20 mins for my bag. Only once has it taken more than 15 minutes in about 20 entries.
that explains it. For some reason Ottawa is a disaster. Last year was 6 weeks. I applied in Aug, so sent my July bank statement. Savings balance of over 80,000 CAD. At 4

FYI - Ottawa embassy is very slow processing TVs. Website says 20 business days, however if they have any questions or need more information it is 20 days AFTER they receive everything. So they will not look at your application until day 20 and if they ask for more info, it's 20 more days to process. So could take 2+ months.
