Is accommodation booking necessary for the TR visa when applying for an e-visa to Thailand?

Hi, on the e-visa website. Will be travelling to BKK Jan 23 on a TR visa. I'm surprised that for the TR visa, they ask for accomodation booking? I knew this was required for STV and also for TP, but didn't think it's required for TR. I want to get my visa out of the way now, but I don't want to book AQ until after Jan 4. Is it really necessary to book AQ for visa? I'm staying with my GF after AQ, could I just have her do an "invitation letter"?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the necessity of providing an accommodation booking for a TR visa application through the e-visa website, surprised by the requirement which they believed only applied to different visa types. They are specifically considering postponing their quarantine accommodation booking until after a certain date and are exploring the option of having their girlfriend provide an invitation letter instead. The conversation suggests that an invitation letter might be acceptable and mentions other related concerns such as monetary requirements and the evolving visa situation.

Invitation letter should be fine. They use the same form for every type of visa, and made every field required, so you just need to work around or find something similar to what they are asking for that makes sense for your visa you are applying for.
