I can't believe today I arrived at the immigration offices in Pattaya at 08:55 in order to submit a new application for a 12-month visa and at 09:15 I was already outside with an order to come pick up the passport tomorrow. And I do it by my self.

Can anyone obtain a 12 month visa?

I’m a British born UK citizen thinking about moving to Thailand but wanting to know the full procedure

Your mom and I are so proud of you!!! You did it!!! But on a serious note. Immigration has been awesome lately. I did my marriage visa. I was in and out in like 15 mins. The visit was same day. Super fast and everyone friendly.

I just wanted to make it clear, I have no complaints about agents and the service they give to customers. Not everyone is built and able to organize all the paperwork properly. What amazed me was how fast it went today, in the past I spent hours waiting for every little matter.

Congratulations🎊yes you can do it 💪

Thank you for sharing.. I've had a poor opinion of Pattaya's immigration office, perhaps I am wrong.

Now, now, we cannot allow expats to do that! This afternoon a crowd of visa agents will be outside your condo demanding their 30,000 THB fee... 🤣🤣🤣. Ok, I'll see myself out.

Exactly, the agent lovers that post here will hate seeing this post

maybe they'll get me to be thrown out of this group without the possibility of parole...

I did likewise today on a similar time frame but was not happy they wouldn't do my residency certificate for my bike purchase on the same day. However the improvement in service has been a breath of fresh air

@Danewitz ******
what visa is it?

@Brown *******
He had a 90 days Non O, now he’s got a one year extension of stay. Takes some time to understand the difference.

@Jan *****************
that's what I thought

@Danewitz ******
NO its a 12 month extension.
Jan ******************
@Danewitz ******
This is not a visa, and it’s called extension of stay. One year visa you can only get at home.

Procedures and organisation in Thailand are much better organised than many European countries (especially mine, Greece)

especially england more than Greece I think 🤣

Unless I am mistaken, you obtained a 12 month extension and not a new 12 month visa.

New, after I had a 90 day visa

@Danewitz ******
you get a 1 year permission to stay - not a 1 year visa - but never mind. A visa is used for entering Thailand and is replaced with a permission to stay as soon as it is shown to immi at the airport
Jan ******************
Congratulations
@Danewitz ******
but this is not a visa anymore, it’s a whole new product and it’s called “Extension of Stay” and you’ll apply for a new one every year.

There were no people in line at all, when I arrived I was given a number and when I got to position 8 I was accepted really unbelievable.
Ken ***********
@Danewitz ******
congrats on the painless process for your extension. Not all of us get it so easily.

@Ken ******
If you prepare all the documents properly and there are no people in line everything goes quickly.

@Danewitz ******
hi what documents would be needed please

The necessary documents: photocopy of passport including photocopy of the entry stamp. Proof of residence and address, photocopy of the bank account book including confirmation from the bank that you have 800,000 baht for the last three months, filling out the T7 form.
Ken ***********
@Danewitz ******
very true. And each year it gets easier to get the application. I have never had to use an agent, but no worries if others decide to use an agent. Up to you.
Ken ***********
@Danewitz ******
so you got a 90 day visa and then a new 12 month visa ? I think if you check your passport, you will see a 12 month extension, not another visa.
