Customs tax for personal clothing, and households stuff on DTV?: The old rules state that if you have a work permit or some sort of visa to stay long term in thailand, you can avoid paying customs tax
I'm just shipping one box with used clothing, an air tight / vacuumed wrapped pillow, and some random cables and such
Less than $100 in value at most.
Will they tax me? Because one time I shipped my Debit card to Thailand and they made me pay 30 baht to receive it (why?)
Thanks to this group for all the great information relating getting our visa squared away. It was easier than I thought it would be.
On a totally separate question, can anyone give their best advIce on how to get a letter delivered from the US to Chiang Mai as fast as possible and ensuring it actually arrives. I’ve scoured the internet and read a vast array of comments regarding UPS, FedEx, DHL etc. Any advice is much appreciated.
Hi! I would like to send some papers (6×a4) from Bangkok to Germany via postal letter. Can someone recommend a service who can manage this? Maybe Thailand Post?
Question about Thailand customs/parcel clearance - In May I sent two small parcels (<2kg) via UK Royal Mail from London to Thailand arrived in 6 days no problems at all. Last week I sent a larger parcel (10kg) via TNT and paid extra because they advised 3-5 day delivery time. Not only has the parcel been delayed on route (Dubai and Singapore) but is now being held by FedEx in Bangkok and I’m being told I need to pay for a private clearance agent for them to release the parcel. Does anyone have experience of this happening???
