DTV (workation) approved by Ottawa. Submitted yesterday afternoon, was immediately asked for additional document (company registration), was approved today. Cost $650CAD (16,500 THB). Ottawa is notoriously slow with e-visas so I was shocked by the quick turnaround. This visa couldn't be more perfect for me as I travel to Thailand annually for about a 5 month stretch, stay with my GF and work remotely. No more extensions or border bounces!

Edit: approved today!! (24 hours)

May I ask if it’s your company? (You mentioned the company registration). I have a business in Hong Kong which I’m a director of, so I’m not quite a freelancer

My METV was also approved in a day as opposed to 25 business days (exactly) ever other time from Ottawa.

Highly suggest border bounce instead of extension at immigration as it appears the original submitted paperwork might be required for an extension.

Edited: Posting before coffee has its math drawbacks

Plus the ฿10,000 fee?

Border bounce is best then 👍

@Biff ******
extension is 1900 unless there is a special fee for this visa

Yes, it’s so new that no one has extended it yet. I’m not sure how much they will charge for an extension of it.

@Biff ******
historically all extensions no matter the length have all been 1900 baht.

I do that too... 😉 Remember coffee and keyboards don't mix. Coffee first, then reply to emails and FB posts. 🙂 I'm a teacher, if there's one thing I know, it's how many DAYS there are in a year... as I count them daily. HAHAHAHA

Good to hear. They have made me wait the maximum time every time I applied. How many months of bank statements did you have to submit

Thank You for your report.

Congratulations on your success in getting the DVT visa from the Thai Consulate in Ottawa Canada.

You used the Evisa online application system.

Be sure to print out several copies of the Evisa you received in the email. Show to the Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand.

Double check that you are STAMPED in for 180 days each time you enter Thailand.
