The conversation discusses rumors and speculation regarding potential visa exemptions for Thai passport holders traveling to the UK and Australia. While some users express skepticism about these developments, such as the practicality of implementation and political motivations, others cite past comments from officials suggesting that a visa exemption could be under consideration. Comments also touch upon associated issues like expat taxation and the economic impact of such policy changes.

Wow what reporting should win a medal “Where’s the Story ??”
So Australia will scrap visa requirements for Thais? Currently near to impossible to get a tourist visa to Australia and if do there is a good chance being stopped at immigration on entry.

Would be terrible for Australia, but the country is pretty much lost at this point anyway.
I spoke to the embassy in Ottawa yesterday they said there were no requirements in terms of banking info however on the e visa site they're still asking, so I'm not sure

hope they can just sell a reasonably priced permeant residency for something like 30k usd, not the ridiculous 150k for 20yr elite visa.
with politicians running something like this, it's a don't hold ya breath and when they do implement it they will fuck it up . . . especially out Australian bought out c**ts!

The foreign secretary for the UK Cameron is supposed to have struck the same kind of deal I rang his office there not telling me anything, as to how soon these are free for thailanders to come to the UK, so I got them saying they're going to do it!!!? we want to know when they're going to do it
I didn't tell you to ring it I simply said that I had called it, and that was the information that I got that they're not telling you anything!! So letting people know no point ringing as they're keeping their cards close to their chest
I do hope you're wrong and Cameron is not lying to everybody once again I plan on coming to live out there soon so I can be with my wife as we have now set up a business there that I will eventually go and live out there but when coming back to the UK to visit family it would be nice to bring her without the red tape even if it is in 2 years time at least there was something to look forward to
You'll still have to apply through the British Immigration channels, providing all the usual stuff. Bank statements, employment history, salary, title deeds to property. That's not going to change. It's all political gesturing. With the immigrant situation the way it is in the UK, do you really believe letting citizens in freely from a SE Asian country is going to be a vote-winner?

Great after Indians will be another influx of zero dollar tourists
Tony **********
Very cheap and want everything for nothing, and the smell.. woo-hoo.
it's not a fact. It doesn't upset me in the least. These people make a very valuable contribution wherever they go. Look at the US, UK and other countries where Indians have made huge contributions including having a vice president and several prime ministers. What they do nothing? They actually do the work the natives of the country don't want to do
why do you have to educate racist lower IQ people living inside egg shell world These people don't know the value of zero , importance of volume and aggregate purchasing power makes India one of the largest markets in the world. My many Thai friends (hostel and resort owners) are waiting for Indians to come to their province so that they can increase occupancy rate (volume). He needs to fact check his 0 $ brain first....sorry if upsets some people here..
i agree on 50% of what you say: very low spending tourist/residents are not good. But most of them they don't come to Thailand for the bargirls. I see a lot of "hippies" that they just come to enjoy the country, the legal weed, kratom, go with motorbike without helmet, and relax...not good either hahahah
do you think that maybe you’re specific location would provide a selection bias? Why would anyone think that an Indian going to Pattaya and an Australian going to Bangkok or Phuket are the same cohort?
