Does Thai Air Asia check carry-on luggage weight of 7kg?

We took an extra 23 k case on Thailand air it was nearly 1000 pounds

Pay for checked luggage, all airlines limit on-board to 7kg

Why not pay for extra luggage? They very well check weight, it depends on each airport and their staff

They weighed my bag at the gate and saw that they sent someone back to check theirs in. I had a medium sized back pack so nothing that looked overly heavy. Might have been that particular flight tho.

Air Asia is one of the worst airlines I've ever encountered. Of course they are going to weight it. They want to extract more profit from you. You can also consider yourself lucky if the flight is not delayed.

I'm more annoyed with having to prove onward journey ...gone are the days of free and easy flights where you were able to Change your itinery as you went ....it's seems an unnecessary requirement . ....the majority of travellers having to pay the price for the very occasional traveller that can't afford a flight or coach trip out of the country .

That ~15lbs. What the hell do you have in your carry-on that weighs 15 pounds? They almost never weigh it but it has to fit in the measuring thing they have at the gate. WITHOUT FORCING IT!

Dude, I have stayed someplace for 30 days with just carry-on. Just figure out what you can buy at your destination. Toothpaste they have everywhere.

Buy a Scot-e-vest online. I can fit almost 10kg into the gazillion ockets and the vest is designed so that it is not visible how much shit is in the pockets

Check-in online the day before. When you arrive at the airport go to one of the kiosks and choose "re-print boarding pass" and print your boarding pass then proceed directly to your gate. No chance for them to weigh anything.

Do self check in at the kiosks and no one will check your carry on weight.

Scoot is the only low cost who allows 10 kilogs in two bags.... Then you could wear a jacket with large pockets and pile up a couple of kilogs as well..... I did that with wearing more heavy clothes according to seasons and destinations.....

Flew to DMK to Vientiane Laos for 10 days mid December with them and they checked weight on way back only. I saw many people with a second carry on “under seat” bag too all without issue

I just paid USD 27+ for 20 Kg yesterday for my checked luggage. Doing it while you book the ticket would be the least expensive.

No, they don't check it. Flew air asia a lot recently and they never check carry on. Some idiot was carrying 2 large pieces that clearly weighed combined over 20kg.

However air asia is the worst airline on the planet with highest delay rate across all, missed connections with budget airlines resulting in large financial losses for passengers. I will never fly with them if there's a connection with a different airline involved because you'll miss it 100% of the time. Every flight I took was delayed by 2-6 hours

Very cheap to buy check in luggage. Do it when you check in online. More expensive at the airport

You can check baggage. You spin the wheel of you're over and they check it. It's random. I have seen them very strict and I have seen people with three huge bags come on air asia flights.

Pay extra for luggage check in luggage don't play victim 7 kg little for a week it's not airline fault you don't pay luggage

I have regularly travelled with 7kg carry on, heaps for travel in Thailand, usually you can also carry a small bag up to 3kg, no waiting for baggage, get off the plane and go

There are many laundry services in Thailand. 7 kg is plenty. Just use the laundry once and you will be fine .

Airasia are the most stringent and often do weigh the case. If it is over the 7kg they can make you go back to check it in and pay for it.

Yes 7kg is little for a week, so 2 options, pack light and you can hand wash clothes or get washed cheaply here, or just pay for the checked luggage.

I have flown MANY times with Airasia. You may of course be lucky… if it’s only kg they don’t bother.

You can also wear a jacket with pockets and put heavy things in pockets, wear the heavy shoes / clothes etc.

Yeah they usually ask when you check in but are lenient. I travelled from Bangkok to Malaysia with about 8.4 or 8.6kgs and they had no issues

You would be amazed how much you can get in a 7 kg bag.

Yes they will check it only airline that doesn't really Ck the weight in Thai smiles all others will Ck I fly every month using different airlines I prefer Thai smiles but sometimes I'm stuck using the others and always end up having to check my bag in for an additional 500 baht

If you’re leaving from bkk they don’t but depends where you go to for example KL absolutely do weigh and make you check it in. However it is the most stupid system ever in KL as they weigh it on the scale as you go through and both myself and my colleague were over so we literally in front of them opened the small cases and put things like shoes back on instead of flip flops and our suit jackets on over T-shirt and shorts and I also rammed another shoe into my laptop bag she then weighed the case again and it was under so went through then literally put everything back in, an absolute joke but they just want you to check it in and pay more .. And if you’re concerned then just take more and check it in like everyone else

Air Asia is no frill low cost. If you have luggage, they want up to pay. End of story

Thai airasia is usually fine, nok air and vietjet is not in my experience. But depends if they decide to check on your particular flight, it’s a % chance if they do I would say.
