If your Thai visa requires having money in a Thai bank account, you qualify for a Thai bank account. The article doesn’t indicate how many Thai bank accounts a foreign can open. I only have 2 Thai bank accounts, because In Thailand, the Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) offers deposit insurance, protecting accounts with up to 1 million Thai Baht (THB) per depositor, per financial institution.
Unfortunately Thailand has been inundated by fraudsters, scammers and criminals syndicate. Thai nominees has enabled criminals syndicates to take advantage of the banking system. Short-term Thai tourism bank accounts could be used for money laundering activities from abroad.
I read several weeks ago that Thai Immigration knew of the online TM 47 rejection debacle and supposedly fixed this annoying problem. I’ve become used to my online TM 47 being rejected. For the consecutive 9 months my online 90 day application has been rejected.
So, I travel to Thai immigration with all the same online information on the paper TM 47 form and it’s approved everything. I’m due for another encounter with the Online TM47 dated 29-05-24. I’m skeptical if Thai Immigration has fixed the clutch in there TM47 algorithm.
The Chiang Mai Immigration online appointment portal apparently lacks availability or manpower. I’m glad your was successful in getting your visa; however, spending 6 hours at immigration is mind numbing. I refuse to use an agent for a simple task.
If you are foreigner with a pink card and married to a Thai are your children automatically citizenship of Thailand or not? According to regulations:
Furthermore, if your spouse transitions, dies, are you required to sell the property immediately or etc? I believe the property including land must be registered by a Thai citizen only.
