Want to share something positive about immigration for a change. Got my covid extension today in Chiang Mai at the satellite office at the Promenada Mall in under 30 minutes. Ok, they still issue the annoying “under consideration”. But a much smoother experience than at the main branch at the airport. Nice staff, too. Thank you

Regarding the Chiang Mai post about today's visa adventures @ Promenada mall

I was also at Promenada mall today to get my first 30-day extension. Went before they even opened the mall and got it done in about 2 hours (there were about 25 people there even before me). If you're going tomorrow, be there extra early if you want to make sure you get it done.

A friend of mine, whose first exemption-month was already 3 days over (it ended on 20.03) was also doing her first 1900thb visa extension. They just stamped her extension for one month STARTING from 20.03 so she did not have to pay 500THB/day for the days that she did not have a visa. So if anyone is a few days over, then there's the same hope for u.

I also have a question. Do I understand correctly that (given the situation and information as of today) when this 30-day extension of mine runs out, then I have to apply for an emergency 7-day visa which costs 1900THB?

It's rumoured that Chiang Mai Thai Immigration is moving from Promenade back to the Airport area in a new building. Any confirmation of this..and when?

OK pretty lame question where do I get a residency certificate in Chiang Mai ?
