I've lived here for 7 years. I have one Thai bank account but I almost never use it.

I know people here longer that don't have one.

The maximum insurance is only 1 million baht. So you can't give a large amount of money in there.. I keep only what I need for the LLC and regulations.

Even shopping I use Western debit cards. Good Western banks will refund any fees

Nothing in her name . Nothing

Car, house , leasehold, everything..

I had to buy a second car because I used my ex to get a good interest rate.

Call me, my friend is a lawyer and will actually handle all the immigration stuff for you in person.. like he will go with you to get your visa.

We live here full-time and we spend around $5,000 a month. It does not include our housing..

Many other expats will tell you a similar ballpark estimate..

I would say $2,000 a month is too little.

And keep in mind one bad night in a bar can cost you $1,000. 😂

Learn the country and stay here for multiple years before you even attempt to open a business

most of the people coming on Visa exemptions don't have much money

That's why they want to sell the new Visa policies..

I just saw a post today of a guy asking if he could live in Thailand for $800 a month

.. the average tourist is much more broke than you would think

Bronze Visa through Thai privilege might be a better option.
