My wife and I are planning to spend 3-4 months every year in Thailand when we retire next year. My wife is a dual citizen (US and Thailand). I am a US citizen. We were married in the US but never registered it in Thailand. We are both over 60. We are financially secure. We have a house in Thailand under my wife’s name. While in Thailand, I may volunteer my time at non-profit organizations. I’d would like to eventually get a Thai permanent residency (or citizenship) so I don’t have to deal with visas and in later years we may decide to live in Thailand full time. What’s the best path for me to get to Thai PR or citizenship?

Hi everyone!

My family visa visit ends on August 13th

I have already done 2 visas this year

I start sending 40k every month from Dec 2022 because I don't have 400k for visa family!

I'm not married but we live together!

I go to court and I'm already making paper to make a passport, I just have to translate into Italian to make!

My Thai baby was born in Samui on March 23, 2020 and I haven't been home to Italy since November 2019.

i try to ask some family agent about visa and not 400k but ask me 55k… yeah ok 15 months not only 12 but too expensive!

Tomorrow I'll ask some agents more...

My question is what visa can I do from 13th August to December?

in december its 12 consecutive months i am sending 40k from italy i just need to ask my thai bank to make the paper for presentation to samui immigration office plus all other papers that will be similar to family visit visa?

Thank you!

Hello

I've tried searching through the posts to help but had no luck. I'm a Canada passport holder, usually come to Thailand on visa exempt 2-3 times per year. I have a Thai daughter , under 20 years old, that was born and lives here with mum. We are not married. Next year I plan to move to Thailand on a more permanent basis to be with them.

I know I could do a long term ( aged 50+ years) visa , but do I have the option for a non immigrant o visa based on having a Thai child?

Other question would be could I come here on a tourist visa and switch it to the non immigrant o while here?

Any advice is super helpful?

Anyone can recommend me the appropriate visa to stay in Thailand for long term? I am under 50 so retirement visa is not suitable for me. I am considering ed visa/volunteer visa, but agents in Pattaya seems don’t selling these visa anymore. Or if you get these visa recently, please let me know which province you are in. Otherwise, elite visa is the only option, please share the pros and cons of the elite visa. TIA

My one year marriage extension will be expiring in a few months, so I’ll need to put 400k into my Thai bank account soon for the renewal application. It’s really not a good time, so I’m wondering if there’s any type of extension that would give me more time before needing to deposit the money. Thanks

Asked in another thread;

Would anyone recommend the Elite Visa over the retirement visa and if so why? Thanks...

(Sorry I couldn't move the old comments to this new topic) :/
