TLDR : Answer Summary
A 49-year-old male planning to marry a Thai woman and start a business in Thailand can consider several visa options. The Non-O Visa, which is based on marriage, is one of the most discussed options as it allows a foreigner to live and work in Thailand after marriage. Alternatively, a Non-B Visa is also a potential choice, especially if the business is being registered under the spouse's name. Some comments encourage considering a Retirement Visa upon turning 50, which could offer more stability without reliance on the spouse's visa status. There are strong warnings in the comments about potential risks and the need for legal caution, with suggestions of prenups and being financially prudent, emphasizing the importance of due diligence in such relationships.

I would suggest a retirement Visa. Any visa that requires an outside source such as an employer or spouse can potentially be problematic in the future. There's no reason that getting a Visa that is only reliant on you should be a problem.... Just keep up with your reporting.

Not marry yet apply for Non-Business visas, or Non-B.
An alternative option is to apply for a Non-O visa after marrying a Thai wife, which will allow you to obtain a work permit and legally work or open a business in Thailand ka.
In the event of a separation, she must leave the house with only personal belongings and without any monthly payment.

Thai woman here
- Non O is best option
- Use good account firm for company set up and not lawyer.
- If you have had successful business experience. I know how you can handle most things.
- Most Thai girl know how to do business but most Thai girl also do not know how to do systematic business so you gotta be a boss and let not her be bossy.

Oooohhh,, been hit then? One has to be careful, but no more than anywhere else in this world. Normally, nature intervenes and joins 2 bad ones together and they both get their karma in the end ;-)

She will one day decided to divorce you and you get nothing in return take no chances that's a different type of rule
There are always exceptions, tread with caution ,if she comes from a bar leave her there ,as the saying goes you can take the person from the bar but you can’t take the bar from the person

This is an accurate at at all. I wasn't saying this as a disparaging or negative thing necessarily. It's just different .
The Philippines comparatively to the states or the West is not a first-world country. As men who want to do the right thing and want to start a family we can't be obtuse to this idea .
The Philippines have bubbles of prosperity like BGC Makati and Manila But it is largely a third world and/or developing country .
With that being said the idea of finding someone who would be appreciative of what I could bring to the table is extremely high which is a good thing.
is that impossible to find in Thailand damn near ? That would be ideal for me. Just turned 43.. looking to move next year potentially to Thailand.. I'm in in similar boat as oo.. but would love a good quality virgin I can build a family with .
same to you!😂😂 Just because I don't want a ran through woman physically, emotionally and mentally doesn't make me lack quality. On the contrary in fact.
who the hell is shopping lol? That's a condescending phrase in relation to trying to find the right partner who shares my same values .
Feminism has lied to you all as if to say being ran through physically emotionally and mentally is a good thing. Aka date em all.
Just because I see the writing on the wall and prefer not to have this type of woman does not mean I lack quality... again.. on the contrary it's the exact opposite!
I recognize that the earth is my turf and I have a passport which means I can find someone on this planet that shares my same values... because that's what matters most in relation to matters of the heart even beyond interest, similar age, likeness and commonalities.
you’re actually not far off from your assessment . But it depends who you marry. I would say you’re closer to someone marrying a young virgin than someone who’s marrying a woman with three kids and has been around the block a few times
so their culture is similar to phillipine culture? You have to do a dowry and or outright support their family?
Morandante ***********
Ken Richter excuse me, you have hurt all the women of the Philippines, why don't you teach your Filipino family to stretch their bones, if you want to give to their entire family, it doesn't mean all the women in the Philippines, there are still many of us Filipinos working well in Thailand and living a dignified life
filipina would spare you the car and the dowry . even the house for a while , but you will be locked in supporting the entire family including grandparents, nephews , aunts , uncles . I think the Filipino culture is far more brutal in that regard. From my experience if you don’t send their family money in the Philippines they will threaten their daughter daily. I would say the Filipino culture is far more out of touch with reality than the Thai culture with regard to money trees in the backyard.
