What else am I forgetting????
My plan was to take 20k for a 6 month vacation 25k total with 5k for flight and and visa fees & insurance;
Pay bills in America for 6 months = $6000
14k ÷ 6 months = 2333 remaining Budget
70k savings getting 4% in high intrest saving account pays me an additional $258 monthly bringing my total BUDGET to $2591 ($2600) monthly.
With $2100 in MANDATORY bills that leaves me $500 a month to party/massages/island hop/ elephants and if push comes to shove "girlfriend experience".
Am I OVER or UNDER BUDGETING....AND WILL $500 a month be enough after MANDATORY BILLS are paid to have the kind of adventure that most are looking for?
P.S. I'm 44 so even tho I look foward to some night life nights....I see myself being more of a "visit the islands" lay up and get massages 6x a week and eat good food and visit cool locations over the club scene. But I do party....
Was just looking at flights to USA and back- second week of March to first week of April, and they are double what I usually pay. Is there something going on that is driving the price spike?
I would like to share how I got my DTV visa in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
This group helped me a lot during my preparation and that's why I wanna contribute too.
❗I applied in September and at that time, the embassy accepted walk-in application, however, it will change to Evisa starting from 8th October.
General info
--------------------
The process was pretty easy in my case.
No appointment was needed.
I applied on a Friday and got an appointment next Friday.
The processing time was pretty long though.
There was no interview.
Visa fees $400
Documents I submitted
---------------------------------------
✅Passport
✅Passport front page copy
✅Visa application form
(1 photo, white background, 3.5 x4.5 cm)
✅Place of stay in Thailand (condo rental contract)
✅Flight ticket (not a mandatory though, since I have already bought one, I submitted it also)
✅Workcation category
•Work contract
•Recommendation letter
•Payslips (6 months)
✅Bank statement (3months)
•With Myanmar bank account
•The account has been opened for more than 1 year but was inactive without transactions.
•Put the money 2 weeks prior to my application date
✅Bank certificate
•I requested the bank to include the currency in both MMK and USD.
•Both of my bank statement and bank certificate are not the original documents. Since I am already in Thailand, my mom helped me get the documents and sent me the scanned copies. I submitted with the sacnned ones and that was okay.
I have also made a video about this but I'm sorry it's not in English sub.
DTV Requirements seem clear with the exception of 1 critical items related to the application.
1. Do you need to be in your local passport country to apply?
As an example, for me, traveling back to USA would be significantly more expensive and time consuming then a neighboring country. Also, if it takes more then 30 days, I risk breaking the "FEIE" (foreign earned income exclusion) law.
USA travel + cost to stay would easily be 150k+ baht. Rather then say going to Vietnam for 30k.
Looking for some guidance. We are booking a 3 week trip end of this year and have been talking to a local tour operator. He is going to arrange hotels internal flights and trips out from various locations. We have a driver/guide with us for about 17 days and the vehicle has air con. Trip includes 5 days in Bangkok with 4 days of tours then flight to ching mai for 5 nights with 3 days of tours 1 night in Chiang rai with 2 days of tours then flight to Phuket for 8 nights staying at Bang Tao beach. This costs £6200. Does this seem reasonable
Has anyone recently done a border bounce out of Thailand then back into Thailand at Ranong and could please help me out with some information?
If so what are all the associated costs? What time is the border open? How long does it take to get to Myanmar and back? Where is a safe place to park a big bike? Anything else that could be useful information regarding this? Thanks!
Hi everyone. I'm in Cambodia now and am planning to travel from Poi Pet to the Ban Laem Border Checkpoint tomorrow to re-enter Thailand, as I'm told that the Poi Pet border is hard to re-enter. I've been quoted 2500 THB for a taxi to the checkpoint. Can anyone tell me if that's a good price or not, and can anyone suggest an alternative bus/taxi combo that would be cheaper? Thanks.
