Initially they looked at the wedding stamp and thought I was on VOA and started to tell me I couldn't apply, when I showed them the non imm O they were happy.
This was in Kanchanaburi, probably different in BKK
I am in the process of getting car and bike licences in Kanchanaburi.
First for the certificate of residence, you will need 2, you have to get the TM30 + tabien baan and ID card copies signed from owner + 3 recent photos. 1 per cert and 1 kept by immigration. I paid B500 and it took about
*****
minutes to get them.
Next you have to go DLT
They want to see the certificate, a health certificate less than 1 month old, your passport with a long term visa, you need to copy the data page, visa, entry stamp. And your current full licence from your home country and current IDP (if you have one) and copy of licence
2 years ago on my non O Thai wife extension, when I went back after the under consideration period, they had the previous year's paperwork there. The IO pointed out that I'd used the same pic on both and sent me downstairs to get a new one
I am on an out of country visa at the moment because 1 pension payment arrived late last year because of a Thai bank holiday and CW refused to extend my visa. Neither could I apply for a new in country visa for the same reason.
I now have 12 months of consecutive B40k+ deposits to show. Can I use that and apply for a 1 year extension now, rather than waiting for my current visa to run out. I'm roughly half way through the current visa.
I flew to Vietnam on 20 March from BKK. I arrived 4 hours early, as advised by Thai Airway, only to find that check-in opened 3 hours before departure. Check-in and passport control took 30 minutes each, so 1 hour in total to get to the air side. Had I been a Thai passport holder it would have been a lot faster as they had virtually no queues.
No, but there is a fastrack system at arrivals in BKK. The lady supervising the massive queue at passport control, took my passport and took me over to the fastrack, I was through in about 5 minutes.
I suspect it was less to do with my dashing good looks, and more to do with me being an old codger.
