Apologies in advance if this question has been answered before. Looking to move back permanently to Thailand with my wife. What is the best visa? What is the yellow book, and how do I get one? How do I open a bank account? What proof /ID do I need? We have a house in my wife's name, where we will reside I will travel back and forth to Australia for work. Is it acceptable for proof of income if my own business ( company ) pays into my Thai bank monthly to meet the requirement for the marriage extension? Instead of the 400k? Lots ot unpack. Appreciate any input

Figure some may be interested in bank account opening information. Entered on Non O Monday. Went to immigration got the resident form. Had to show my passport stamped non o and my lease agreement for place I’m renting. I asked for two copies of the residency forms from immigration.

Now the bank hopping began but wasn’t horrible. Went to 3 and they each gave me their reason why I couldn’t open the account there. 4th bank was asked for passport showing non o and forms received from immigration and a form from my cell phone provider stating the phone account is mine. Lady spent a lot of time helping I opened two separate savings account one with an ATM card I will use for monthly deposits and spending the other used for holding the funds required for retirement visa I will leave in that account.

So just posting to give my experience and to help hopefully it doesn’t discourage others because a bank or two or three say no, just keep trying.

Hello everyone - just wodnering - TDAC with DTV visa, country of residence

I have my long term DTV approved and have entered once without a problem (stayed 4 months).

I am renting an apartment long term and have my primary residence in Thailand, however I have not registered for taxes etc yet (I will).

I have an adress in Spain aswell.

So I wanted to know, on the TDAC, can I write that country of residence is Thailand or will I get in trouble?

Thanks in advance

Once the visa is approved, does it matter if it's soft power or work cation? An agent told me today it's the same

Is having a DTV visa considered as a residency ? Is there anyone who applied for other countries visas with their DTV?

> If I was approved DTV. Am I right in thinking. That these visas have a life span of 5 years. As well as other criteria in obtaining the DTV. Is that I must have 500,000thb in my bank account at the time of application. I am assuming this 5 year life span begins at the first time entering Thailand. And that every 90 days I must leave the country then reenter to start another 90 days . After the first 90 days. in fact there is no need to leave the country, As it can be extended at a immigration centre. What paper work will immigration want to see. And will they want to see 500,000tbh still sitting in my bank account?

Good evening, does TM 30 have an expiration date if I never leave Thailand? Someone told me that after 2 years I have to do the tm30 again even if I did not change address and I did not leave Thailand crossing the border. Is it true? Thank you

To get my name on the house book I need a certified copy of my birth certificate.

The US embassy doesn’t do that. It’s for the authority in Nonthaburi. What is acceptable as certification?
