Will I be allowed to re-enter Thailand at the Aranyaprathet border after staying one night in Cambodia?

Hi there. I'm doing a border bounce at the Aranyaprathet (Thailand) / Poi Pet (Cambodia) border. I've already entered Cambodia (with a visa) and I'm staying in Poi Pet tonight. Will I be allowed to re-enter Thailand tomorrow at the same border? If so, will I need to pay 'extra', and how much might that be? If not, can anyone tell me how long I need to wait before re-entering, or alternatively recommend a better border to enter on? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses concerns related to re-entering Thailand after a one-night stay in Cambodia at the Aranyaprathet/Poi Pet border. The user asks if they will face difficulties re-entering Thailand and what the potential costs would be. Multiple comments warn against using this border for a bounce due to possible entry denial, suggesting alternative borders such as Chong Chom or Ban Laem. Users provide advice on what to carry for the return crossing, like cash, a booked flight, and hotel reservations.

add on question... for those entering on visa-exempt, does land entry only give 15 days exmept? or 30 days like air entry??? I hold a US passport
Michael *******
4 week waiting period than fly from the capital to Bkk

Been to Ban Laem border many times and never had any issues overthere.

Cheers that's my new plan

What's your recent visa history? If it's just a one off, it shouldn't be a problem. I used that border at least a dozen times and never had an issue. Just make sure to have 20k in cash, a booked flight and a hotel booking for a few days.

OK thanks. It's my first time using this border, but my visa history for 2023 has three flights in and out of Thailand, and one border bounce at the Chiang Mai/Laos border.

Ban Laem is ok, I was there a month ago. 2 hours south of Poipet. Ban Sabtari is closer if that is open.

Farang cannot use Ban Sabtari. It's either Ban Laem or Ban Pakkad

Ban Laem looks like the best option, if Poi Pet won't let me through.

I used Ban Laem 4 months ago and it was a breeze, walked out walked back in, all completed in less than 1 hour

Cost me $200US as Cambodia immigration said I hadn't been stamped in properly. Made me pay to get out

I couldn't speak of that border nor recent times but the last time I did a border bounce, I crossed over had lunch came back. The border was Nong Khai and it was pre-covid.

all the land borders to Laos are easy-peasy. He talks about Poipet/Aranyaphatet, the absolutely worst border to do a border bounce . . . . . . .
@Andy ******
you can try to cross back into Thailand by tomorrow. If refused, get a taxi to O'Smach (Chong Chom border crossing), you won't run into any problem there

Cheers. Plan A is try to cross at Poi Pet tomorrow morning with a printed onward ticket and 20,000 THB (or equivalent currency) in my wallet. If they refuse me I'll go to the Chong Chom border.

200km will take nearly 4 hours.

that's why I said, try to cross back into Thailand in Poipet. If refused, Chong Chom is the next advisable option (before he needs to take a taxi to Siem Reap and FLY into Thailand, for which he would not only need a ticket, but also an onward travel proof within 30 days). Your choice. There is no better option

Do you think it's necessary to print my onward flight ticket, or can I just show them a digital copy on my phone?
Nongnuch ********
@Andy ******
the question rather is, if the border officials will accept a fake "onwardticket". I have no idea if it matters if printed out or not

***eyes roll***. Are people still using this border even after all the warnings?

@Jim *******
I do, as tons of (non suspicious) people also.

I heard O'Cham is much easier. What might be the cheapest way to get to O'Cham?

Get some valium while you are there you may need it.

Where's Wally?

I don't know how many times it's been posted that poipet is the worst place to cross the border.

You chose the absolute worst place possible to do a border bounce. There's a very good possibility you'll be denied entry and told you must go to Siem Riep and fly back to Thailand. The amount of time you spend in Cambodia is irrelevant for that border.

Literally any other border is a better option.

Can you recommend the best border for my situation, in terms of both distance and ease of entry? I'm told O'Cham is a safe bet but it's 3.5 hours by taxi.
