I am on an out of country visa at the moment because 1 pension payment arrived late last year because of a Thai bank holiday and CW refused to extend my visa. Neither could I apply for a new in country visa for the same reason.

I now have 12 months of consecutive B40k+ deposits to show. Can I use that and apply for a 1 year extension now, rather than waiting for my current visa to run out. I'm roughly half way through the current visa.

I flew to Vietnam on 20 March from BKK. I arrived 4 hours early, as advised by Thai Airway, only to find that check-in opened 3 hours before departure. Check-in and passport control took 30 minutes each, so 1 hour in total to get to the air side. Had I been a Thai passport holder it would have been a lot faster as they had virtually no queues.

My departure time was 11:45 with Viet Air.

No, but there is a fastrack system at arrivals in BKK. The lady supervising the massive queue at passport control, took my passport and took me over to the fastrack, I was through in about 5 minutes.

I suspect it was less to do with my dashing good looks, and more to do with me being an old codger.

I've just sold my apartment in Herts. It went on the market May/June completed, contact exchanged, money in the bank, 12 December. No UK chain, first time buyer and I'm buying here in Thailand not UK.
